A few thoughts/musings...

  • Is Nick Foles really that good? Those are exceptional numbers. Just not sure if he is really that talented or if the scheme is making him look better.
  • Watching Andy Dalton last night, it really stuck out how long his passes take to get to the receiver. Cam spoils us, no doubt, but Dalton just has no velocity on his throws.
  • Geno is the anti-Foles. His numbers are incredibly bad, but he seems to have better talent than his production indicates.

Nick Foles is having one helluva year.

IMO, he's the NFC Player of the Year, and should at least be on the MVP ballot.  His numbers are ridiculous.  He has no shot of winning the MVP due to Peyton putting up madden-like numbers, but Foles has been impressive.  Three total turnovers to 26 TD's, and one of those turnovers was in the blizzard against Detroit.

I would not look forward to being the wild card team that may have to play in Philly.  Their offense is stout.

He benefits from the system, and literally no one game-planning for him until about a month ago. RG3-first-round-picks went from blowing up the league and having similarly gaudy numbers with few turnovers last year, to getting benched this year (As a Washingtonian, local sports radio ain't never been better!).  Foles is definitely the truth in Philly, but he is also definitely going to come back to Earth to a degree next year when opposing teams have more film on him and he's not playing in literally the weakest division in pro football. But he's definitely going to be a winning QB there for a while; what a find!

Geno has no "flashes". Of course he can do some things, he IS an NFL quarterback. But with the exception of T Pryor and Ponder/Cassel, Geno is the worst starting QB in the league (thats if Pryor is still considered a starter). I said it all week, ive never been more confident in a game as I was this week, and I was in complete shock that they even scored more then 1 TD
