Could the bye week be a bad thing?

You know what else could be bad? Having to play 1st round. We could lose or have injuries to deal with. Besides, don't teams get a week off before Super Bowl? Need to get use to it now.

Yes but in that case, both teams will be affected by the lack of continuity. In this case, we'd be playing a team in the divisional round that also played in the wildcard round.

Apparently no road team has ever gone into a hostile environment in the playoffs, and kicked the other teams ass before.

That's what I'm gathering from this thread.

More teams have won after a bye than upsetting a team that's unbeatable at home.

You want us to finish 5th is what I'm gathering from your posts

So, because Jake had the worst game of his entire life and threw the game away to the Cardinals years ago, we're now afraid of a playoff bye week.  This roster, coaching staff, and entire organization is so different from way back then that I don't even see why that game is so much as being mentioned in this conversation.

No football coach ever would rather have to play a game to get to the second round of the playoffs over being there automatically and knowing he was going to have home field advantage.

Thinking anything other than this hurts my head. Plus it means you want us to lose another game in the regular season....which also hurts my head.

    • Ravens mixing it up with a random Mark Andrew tush push last year isn't a similar situation.  Lamar has run QB sneaks his entire career.  And often instead of a traditional sneak will even employ a 4th and 1 direct snap to Lamar simply because of how athletic he is (which even Cam did a lot of) and let him pick his own holes.
    • height being an issue doesn't just mean batted balls.  You could argue Bryce minimizes batted balls by adopting other poor habits such as his jump passing and leaving the pocket.   As I said, there are plays you can point to where he clearly was blind to parts of the field/players....which kills plays and opportunity. Which actually means some of the shorter/hot throws when things break down are where his vision gets blocked (and he had below average production all around the line of scrimmage).   has he figured it out? I mean, he improved off a trainwreck start.  But Bryce Young since arriving in the league (even while figuring it out)......doesn't generate much offensive production vs his peers.  I just think his ceiling is low.   And that's not in the grand scheme what you want in the NFL.  I think he can develop into a serviceable QB, that will largely always been a middle of the pack or low end starter.
    • People make a lot of noise about his footwork and I think it is overblown. Whether he takes 3 steps backwards or 5 small steps doesn't matter as long as he ends up at the right depth and is in sync with  the receiver regarding timing. If he does that consistently who cares as long as he has a firm stable base as he delivers the ball. Which he does need to work on. However even that is somewhat overblown given that often QBs have to throw off balance or from different arm angles to fit the ball around defenders. He is considered very accurate so apparently it isn't hurting him that much.
