What's wrong with the offense? (serious thread)

Take off the glasses.

Like I said, didn't know if he was hurt or injured, but he didn't look right.

Now, would you like to put forth a somewhat smart idea?

There were no glasses on believe me, I was not happy with how he played most of that game. He came through in the end though. That's what matters, that's what winners do. He gives us the best chance to win, period. As for the offense, smarter play calling please.

problem is obvious, but people seem to ignore it... siimply put: ccaaaammmmmmm!!!!!!!!!

fans see last minute win and want to crown him but fail to realize he dug the grave...

if it wasn't for this defense, team would probably still be 7-9,8-8, team.. at best

I don't understand why this account is even still here. You claim to be a Panthers fan, but loathe our franchise QB? Leave?

I agree with this.  Cam is the best QB that we have, and I would never want him out of a game...unless he is hurt and is not able to play the position.

From my home in Wilmington, you can't tell what is going on, I can't see the footwork on every play.

That designed Cam run on 3rd and 4ish was moronic. He was obviously injured, why not run a real play. Also, It is amazing how great our offense looks when we do halfback and fullback screens - specifically with the target moving down field and not toward the sideline. I don't know why Tolbert isnt getting 6+ targets a game.

I was going to take this thread seriously until I got to this line...then I stopped reading.

Actually. I was thinking that Rivera may shoudl have benched Cam in the 4th.  Not becuase I don't believe in Cam.....I do.

It just did not appear to be his day and he looked a little gimpy on that ankle.  I thought that Anderson may have been a shot in the arm to try and get our offense moving.

Then he comes out on that last drive and makes me eat crow....and it never tasted so good.

i'm gonna say shula honestly.  but we have obvious holes at WR and on the o line

/ The simple answer that no one wants to admit. /

speaking to Shula specifically: Shula is a mediocre OC who has done an excellent job of teaching Cam how to settle down, make his reads, and play within the scope of the game, but I just don't know if Shula can make Cam realize (or manifest) his true potential---help him, and thus the offense, to move on to the next level. Moreover, his play calling is suspect not only in regards to taking the shackles off Cam, but how he uses the RBs to compliment Cam's game on a consistent basis as well in my estimation. He looks like he gets it some games (like against the Giants and Falcons this year), and then in other games his imagination totally escapes him. He has a governor on Cam, and our offense suffers for it.

Sure. In theory Cam  is having the "best" year of his career because we're winning. But, are we winning because of the offense, or in spite of it? Does Cam and the offense have the necessary weapons at WR and protection on the line to really turn into a beautiful butterfly as it emerges from the cocoon that it has been, or are we just gonna be an ugly dull moth? No way I thought that we'd go from the number one big-play (plays more than 20 yards) in 2012, to dead last in 2013. That's a problem in my eyes, and all paths point to Shula. He needs to continue the process of the evolution of a Cam-lead offense.

Yeah I stopped reading when you brought up the bright idea of benching our franchise quarterback.

This is what I thought Fuzz meant...

At one point I was wondering if he needed to sit too... not because he was playing badly but because he looked hurt.

Offense wise yesterday I think it was a combination of things... I think NO is a bad matchup for our offense for one, I think the playcalling wasn't our best by far (the startling lack of use of Mike Tolbert in and of itself was very noticeable) and Cam didn't play well at all (until the last drive).

Our offense has been up and down all year, so I don't think this is anything new...  it just depends on how the coaching staff deals with it.

I prefer to see them use the hurry up more, get plays in quicker and let Cam be Cam.  Let him play and improvise, and GIVE TOLBERT THE DAMNED BALL MORE.
