Tenn. DUI checkpoint video

Hotsauce

I love how kids like this think these checkpoints have never been adjudicated by the SCOUS and their constitutionality established.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan_Dept._of_State_Police_v._Sitz

By a 6-3 decision the court held that these stops are "reasonable search and seizure" and that brief questioning to establish suspicion or lack thereof was permissible.

The kid is a Dickbag with a camera and no respect or regard for others.

So..... not wanting to roll down your window any further than it already is establishes reasonable suspicion in your mind? Really?

Acting like you have something to hide is reasonable suspicion.

Not wanting to roll the window down could indicate that the driver doesn't want the officer to smell something in the car or something on the drivers breath - so yeah.

Watch the video- the window is already down enough to carry on a conversation and pass the license and registration through.

Maybe the window was broken and wouldn't go down any further? If you're going to use the "... could indicate..." excuse, let's just make all kinds of poo up that "...could indicate..."

Your hair is long, this could indicate you use illegal drugs (remember that from the 60's?)

You're questioning the government too much, this could indicate you're a Communist (remember that from the 50's?)

Yeah you're right...

Just a bunch of goose stepping fascists looking for some kid to rape with a maglight and arrest on suspicion of drug and weapons trafficking.

There is no way that what we saw was some interwebz edumacated constitutional attorney upholding the imagined rights of the oppressed travelers of our once great country.

I quit, you win. Bully for you!

And your attitude could indicate your some ultra-conservative tea-party, right wing, bunker-building crazy person who might start another Aryan nation.  I think the cops should pay you a visit... you know, reasonable suspicion and all....

No moderation here... I guess it has to be one extreme or the other for ya, right?

In the same way that doctors and nurses develop a separate personality for dealing with the people they serve, so that they don't get too close and get emotional... cops can develop the same kind of thing, but in reverse...  They deal with assholes in the general public so much that they just start to assume that everyone is an asshole and they develop a bad attitude.  I've seen it personally a lot.
