3 Reasons Im glad its the 49ers

1. No Aaron Rodgers

2. We have beat them once and should have an advantage in our game plan.

3. The media will basically have the 49ers as favorites in our house. Should be some motivation.

Lets not be scared of anybody. Gotta beat the best to be the best. The superbowl winner will not be a fluke.

1-west coast team playing on the east coast, jet lag and such.

2-Our defensive strength is their offensive strength, Shut down the run game and see if they can beat you passing, which I don't think, Kaep couldn't do it the first time with 90 yards passing.

3-Cam against an aggressive defense can be very good if they overpursue like they did on rodgers all day long today.

Only thing is they didn't have Crabtree or Davis (for most of game) which really limited them last time. Our offense will have to play much better than they have been for us to win, but man our defense at home will be playing lights out. Expect this one to be really close once again.

You could be right.  That is what I predicted prior to the last game, but you have to acknowledge that their best receiver is playing this time.  It wont be as easy as some of you would like to believe.  I love the Panthers but their is no way I would put down big money on a win here.  It might be a game decided by a bounce, a fg, a missed fg.  It is going to be close and I think will end up being the best game of the weekend.  Hope we prevail.   Think we can, but if not I am still proud of this group of players.  They will certainly give their all.

I feel like Ginn is a difference maker in this game.

I was talking about this the other day with my buddies.  It is time for Ginn to prove his worth.  For all of his dropped deep balls, he should make up for it one game at a time in the playoffs.  Take some heat off the offense, and get the crowd hyped up.  We brought him here for ST but he has proven a viable WR.  That still doesn't excuse him from lackluster ST play.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
