"True Detective" HBO Premier

I definitely enjoyed the premiere.  Planning on watching it again before next week.  It is a good thing too.  With HBO announcing that 2014 will be the last season of both Boardwalk Empire and The Newsroom, I was a little pissed that them.

Agree. Newsroom is one of, if not the best written show on TV right now. And we all waited for Boardwalk to come along after the void left by The Sopranos.

I'll be waiting for the next one come the end of this year, I guess...

For sure, I love The Newsroom and it is rare that a show is so good but at the same time has so many characters that you like and root for.

Boardwalk Empire leaving though will leave a big hole in my life.It has the potential to sit in my all-time top five depending on how the final season progresses.  I really think that they had at least two, maybe three more seasons worth of story, which is why it was so disappointing.  I really hope that it does not end up like the final season of The Tudors, where they tried to cram everything in so that they could finish the show early.  That was a very good show that deserved better, but Boardwalk Empire is an all-time great show that deserves the best.  I trust Winter and Co. to give it to us but I am concerned that they may not have the time.

Now it's beginning to come together.... but I still can't figure out what's next. Obviously there's some kind of ultimate confrontation between Harrelson and McConaughey, otherwise they wouldn't be giving statements years later. Not sure what's up there.

shows like this have ruined network television for me with the most unimaginative, obvious story lines.  this show kicks so much ass.

And I usually can't stomach too many cop shows since it's such an over-saturated market.
