If Mitchell and/or Mikell cannot be retained...

Definitely re-sign Mitchell.  I doubt Mikell is re-signed as he will be 34 this year.  I would take a re-structured Godfrey over Lester for a starter in 2014.  Continue to groom Lester to see if he can develop into a consistent starter.

I think the bigger question is who starts at CB.  I doubt they bring back Drayton, and Josh Thomas & Josh Norman are not starting material, and Munnerlyn wants more than he is worth so he may walk.

I would not keep Godfrey for 3 reasons:

1) He has never been very good. Just average.

2) He is expensive. Unless he's willing to take a serious pay cut, he won't be worth his cost.

3) Safety is a position requiring speed and agility. Coming off an achilles injury, he is not likely to have either of those attributes for another 12 months or so.

Godfrey will be gone.  I don't think it's even a question.  We could get 3 Godfrey's for what Hurney paid and save like 5.1 by releasing him.

I agree he'll be gone as well. Solid player but hasn't shown elite skills in his career. We really need to get Mitchell back. He brings an attitude not many players have and although he needs to learn how to tackle a bit better, I think he was a great addition this offseason. Mikell was solid but nothing we can't replace.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
