It didn't start snowing until this morning. The first roads they clear are in front of all hospitals, fire stations, police stations, schools, etc. Then they will start clearing backwoods roads like Hwy 18.

If you knew in advance the weather was gonna be bad and you drive that far, why did you even leave home would be a better question.

Took my friend in Atlanta 7 hours to go 9 miles home, no exaggeration.

I'm in Atlanta. My mother in law is still in her car. She left work at noon, over nine hours ago. About to give up. Coworker just got home after abandoning her car and walking the last five miles. Thankfully I live one block from my office.

While snow and ice brought commuters to a halt Tuesday, one baby girl decided she just couldn’t wait.

Her parents were on the way to the hospital, but couldn’t make it fast enough due to treacherous road conditions, according to the Sandy Springs Police Department.

Instead, the baby’s father and a traffic officer helped the mother deliver the baby — inside a car on I-285. The family was near Riverside Drive when the father stopped the car shortly after 5 p.m., according to police.

I drove from Albermarle to Concord on the backroads tonight over hills and around curves. It was the scariest drive of my life. It was nothing but snow and ice. I went off the road several times. At one point I was stuck at the top of a hill trying to get around a curve and sliding everywhere and a dude pulled up next to me in a F350 diesel 4X4 and asked if I needed him to pull me. So he pulled me for about a mile. I felt so cool

Hope everything turns out ok.

Don't believe the hype about people in areas where snow is common. We have just as many wrecks because Farmer John or Redneck 2.0 think they can go as fast as they want because they have four wheel drive.

    • Actually we like to run more than most, and the dropoff isn't that drastic. We seem to be pretty much middle of the road. The Facons, Bucs, Browns and Bengals are the ones where running drops off markedly when they start trailing. Our line on the chart, like I said, is somewhat middle of the road.  As to whether or not if it's good or bad is anyone's guess by looking at this. I suspect people who like Old school football won't be upset at this at all. The thing is, we would have to know the game scripts and the situations, as running and or passing making sense is contextual. I know that I haven't necessarily been enamored with Canales's situational play calling. At the end of the day, I believe in using the run to set up the pass and the pass to set up the run, and trying to keep the opposition off balance, but I still believe that you should run it down their throats if they can't stop it.
    • Hey alright baseball is awesome.  I cheer for the Braves but I watch all 30 teams.  I pay for MLB TV and both local teams because I'm insane.🙃
    • Because he's from Charlotte, grew up a Panthers fan, and could still make amazing money as an elite LG for his hometown team. And while I think he's a quality starting LT, he's not a Top 5 type of player either.  If he could prove to be a true elite LG, the money might not be that different than what he could make as a LT anyways. I'm not saying he will, but I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities.
