Greg Hardy waiting on phone call, 'crapload' of money

In the past, quality talents got two very good deals. Hardy is probably only going to get the one. By the time this deal ends he will be looking to stay pertinent and win. Which means a little less money but a better chance at a Super Bowl run.

I don't begrudge him wanting his money. But really, we can get him plenty, and a shot at winning it all. Maybe not the money some will offer, but still a good amount.

It all comes down to how greedy he is with this one shot at money. One way or another he is getting a butt load. I just don't want us to be the one taking it up said butt. If he is reasonable, he will still be here. If he is greedy, he will be gone. I want the former, and would hate the latter.

pay him 12 mil

not like were gonna find anyone better for the money..

if he stays i get the feeling our D could be on a legendary track

keep building on the D dont stop.

Or we could pick up Michael Bennett from the Seahawks who's a free agent or Michael Johnson from the bengals who are both proven guys and would be a half the price of hardys contract. It's tough but if getting one of those guys to replace hardy allows us to address two other positions then you have to think sensibly.

Seen this alot lately if CJ restructures etc etc we can pay hardy! This guy although overpaid puts in work and his production since being here every year is awesome, they guy don't ask to get overpaid he gratefully took the money as I or you would because our gm was a douchebag! How about deangelo or Stewart who may I add has been on a hospital bed most of the last two seasons whilst cashing his paycheck! SMH

He can go fug himself, he's doing too much talking for a guy that can't show up in a playoff game.

Fan logic at its finest.  Why begrudge the man for chasing money?  Football players have careers that are "backwards" (for lack of a better term) and short.  The average person makes more money as he/she ages and has a career that spans decades.  The opposite is true for football players.

I hope he gets what he wants and we get what we want.  If the two are not the same, so be it.  Life goes on.

Wrapping up 28m a season...over 20% of the cap in the DE position is dumb.

You could majorly upgrade the secondary and use the urge DE's we have and improve the defense more.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
