What I Think Will Happen

In addition to his very solid play on the field Munnerlyn has an infectious tenacity every D needs.

absolutely.

there's a lot of qualities in addition to solid and reliable play that he brings. i guarantee you there wouldn't be the amount of bitching about that guy if he was a couple inches taller. he brings fire every play and the vast majority of the time he's going to stop his man from getting the ball or at least prevent them from doing much with it if they can catch it.

rivera says he's one of the best nickel guys in the league. i'm going to take his opinion over any hack in here.

DeAngelo won't be cut, simply because we cannot trust Stewart to be healthy and it would be a waste to have to spend a draft pick on a back... and for that matter, he's not bad at this point. He contributed over 1,000 yards of offense to the team and averaged 4.2 YPC, which isn't bad when you consider he only had six runs longer than 20 yards.

I don't think we cut Dwan, either. He provides quality depth at that spot and doesn't cost a lot.

agreed about keeping DWill but I also think with the depth of the draft we can get a RB in later rounds. We need some help.

That's one game vs one of the fastest WRs in the league. Everyone gets beat every now and then. I saw revis and Sherman get beat for big plays this year.

Captain was not beaten deep consistently.

Boldin burned him to set up Kaepernick's rushing td in our playoff game. Yeah Lester should've been there to help, but Captain still got burned.

By the way, this idea of Hakeem Nicks taking a "prove it" contract is nothing more than a pipe dream manufactured by the huddle.

Don't hold your breath fellas.

though I don't see him coming the to the Panthers per se i do see a player who does have something to prove.whoever gets him will get a highly motivated WR.That is a good thing.

That's all my point is he's a good nickel guy not a straight out corner, I hope we address the cb problems so he can play that position which is his best.

I wouldn't let go of Dwann or D'angelo

Agree! It's not only stupid to let deangelo go when stewart cannot only stay healthy, but also struggle to rediscover his best form which wil likely leave us with a lame duck rb. and edwards is and was crucial to star and kk's play last year with his experience and rotation, no colin cole will mean we have three DT.

This offseason is a critical offseason for us. We can either build on our momentum or continue to be an inconsistent franchise. After taking a few weeks to get over the loss to the Ninersi started to think about this offseason. This is what I expect or at least think will happen.

The Panthers start off by franchising Hardy and eventually signing him after they lock up Cam.

I think Cam gets a contract that will make him our franchise QB for the majority of his career.

I believe Jordan Gross signs a 2 year deal that is team friendly.

I expect the Panthers to work out deals with Mike Mitchell, Captain Munnerlyn, and Ted Ginn.

I expect the Panthers to cut loose Charles Godfrey and Dwan Edwards, as well as take a long look at Chase Blackburn.

I truly believe Hakeem Nicks takes a team friendly prove it short term contract with his hometown team.

Finally I expect and really believe DeAngelo Williams will be a July 1 cut

Well said.

I think Gettleman will do everything possible to re-sign Hardy before the FA period begins. If he cannot, Hardy will be allowed to walk. The franchise tag will take up 12 million of our approx 20 milion cap space. This would damage our chances of re-signing our own guys, not to mention any other free agent targets.

Cam's deal will get done but much later into the offseason, possibly closer to training camp.

DeAngelo, Godfrey, Blackburn and Dwan Edwards will get cut within the next 2 weeks.

Contract year, and he puts up very modest numbers. He missed meetings. Slept through meetings. Didn't care it was happening.

Those are all reasons why the Giants are letting him walk.

And the Panther faithful are lining up him.

In hope that our gm and coaching staff can get him motivated I guess! His ability theres no question he's hugely better than what we have and have had and better than most FA outthere but his desire who knows if it can be restored, It wasn't there last season but looking at the giants most of there players looked like they were wanting be somewhere else on a game day. It's a risk but so is sign most players.

    • As far as elite/elevate talent QB’s It’s Allen Mahomes Jackson and Burrow that’s it.  Then we have tiers and those can be debated all day Dak is a good QB but I know this board would want him out of Charlotte if he was the QB here. 2 playoff wins in 10 years. Justin Herbert no playoff wins. Threw 4 interceptions in last years playoff game. 23 TD passes last year. 20 the year below and 25 the year before that. This board loves stats without context and these stats aren’t saying they’re much above complimentary  Kyler Murray isn’t good. I’m not sure how he made this list.  Caleb Williams, Trevor Lawrence both benefiting from some real good offensive coaches right now. They’re both complimentary pieces until proven otherwise  I like Jordan Love. Always have. I wanted to draft him but he isn’t a superstar.  CJ Stroud hasn’t been much better than Bryce after his rookie season. After that Bears game year 2 his numbers very similar to Bryce I will say I think Drake Maye is well on his way to becoming the next top tier QB if I had to pick one from this entire list. I’d also say Baker Mayfield is a damn good QB and I’d take him over most of those guys not in the elite category  Now if you want to debate tools and which QB’s possess tools to put them in higher tiers that’s a completely different discussion. Most QB’s on your main list all have those physical tools that will keep you thinking he’ll become the next top tier QB. They’ll sprinkle in a “wow” play or two a game. Bryce will never look that way. Young’s game at its peak will physically always look different and I think that’s where most people struggle when it comes to seeing how Young’s can be successful in the league  All QB’s need a team around them. I think the Bills are failing Josh Allen much like the Panthers did Cam. Beane and McDermott using same blueprint with Bills team. Josh Allen hasn’t had much in terms of WR’s and it’s ultimately costing them when it matters the most
