I can honestly say there is maybe 5-6 other posters on here I'd be willing to concede know more about football and the Panthers in general then myself, you are not one of them.

So, you're saying that you are the 7th smartest poster on this board? Lol cut it out.

To agree with another poster that Verrett is Cap 2.0, and to believe that Cap is just too short to be "elite" is almost retarded. Yea, Im going to believe you that you know more football. Okay.

Theres more to Capt's game than just his height that makes him not "elite".

There isnt a position more adversly affected by hight then CB, especially in the NFL where all the recievers are either taller or faster then they were in college, you can be good on your skills alone, but to be elite you have to have something extra, Capt had good cover skills and if he's 4in taller he's a probowler.

Gamble never had good cover Skills but he was tall and fast, size matters more then you want to admit.

There are few reasons why Captain always seem to get his ass burned. Hes not fast, not smooth, and has no vertical leap. He's heavy footed and his slow speed kills him against fast guys. He is who he is today by being smart and physical. Hes making a living in the nfl by playing nickle. He'll never be one to play on the outside.

Verrett is a totally different corner. Go watch his game vs LSU and youll see that he can play anywhere, bc of his speed, range, soft hips/feet, and closing speed.

And you are def making a fool out of yourself by making that comment on Gamble. Quit it. Im done. You sure as hell know your football. Smh

5'10'' is average height for a CB though so...I mean are you saying all CB that aren't 6'1'' can't hang? Because if so the average height for the position would be higher.

You guys can talk height all you want and keep proving that you don't understand the game or the system. Jason Verrett fit's this system better than any CB in the draft. To be an effective CB in the system you have to be able to do a few things, play facing the ball reading the QB, be able to quickly switch from backpedal to drive, and tackle one on one. It's that simple, 5'9'' or 6'5'', if you can't do these things, you will not be a fit for us. It kills me that you guys are always pleading for a guy who is 6'2'' and has always played with his back to the ball chasing receivers in trail, that is not how we play! Open your damn eyes.

Exactly.

Comparing Varett to Munnerlyn is about as accurate as comparing Newton to JaMarcus Russell......

Having one attribute alike does not make them comparable.

People also said that Kuechly's floor was Dan Connor. Look how that turned out.

Watch his tape and quit listening to these guys online.

You don't know what floor means, do you? Also, I'm going to listen to someone that actually worked for an NFL Scouting department and was involved with draft day activities than you. Because frankly, you have no idea what you're talking about 96% of the time.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
