Smith to 49'ers?

Agree, pregnant wife only adds to that. But I don't see him retiring and the closest teams are Atlanta, Baltimore?

I don't see him retiring either unless he doesn't get close to an opportunity he wants which I don't see happening. I think anything East coast might be close enough to home since Charlotte is kind of a central location and an hour or two flight home from basically anywhere east of the Mississippi,  but that is still hard to do on a regular basis during football season I would think. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

NO. Trade one of your best players to the team that knocked you out of the playoffs?? BRILLIANT. Just cut him so he can either retire or sign with the Broncos.

Who said Denver wants him? He's also on record saying he will play in 2014. With SF you keep him out of the division, get a draft pick AND give him a legit shot at a ring.

We don't play SF this season, what happened in the playoffs is irrelevant now.

IF the Panthers had ANY offers...they would have jumped all over it....this is just bait being dangled out there by some Panther execs trying to get something for Smitty....fact is Smitty deserves the $3 million and the opportunity to choose his next team....

The Panthers don't have squat for offers or they would have JUMPED all over it!

Pretty strong chance if Carolina returns to the playoffs they could face SF.  But I'm sure Steve would be happy back in Cali.

Or, as any good GM would do, you wait until 4 pm and see if anyone else comes to the table with a 5th

Smith equated to at least 2 of Carolina's victories last year.....pretty sure without him....Carolina doesn't go to the playoffs last year!

Eh he wasn't as dominant as say 2005 where he equated to like 8 of their wins, but maybe the Miami game with that huge 4th down catch, I'll give him that.  Which other one?

    • The only thing I know is nfl red zone.
    • We put a ton of high draft capital into young WRs over the past few years. We drafted a WR in top 2 rounds of the draft in 4 out of the past 5 years. At some point, we need to rely on the dudes we drafted vs relying on veteran role players. That's the only way we're going to evolve as a team and take the next step to going back to winning again.  Remember when Cam lost KB and everyone thought it was the end of the universe? And 2015 happened.  Maybe losing Theilen and Coker will open some opportunities for some other guys to step up.
    • So apparently in the time between the end of the last football season, and now, a TON of streaming sites have been taken down. From what I remember most of these idiotic offiicial streaming services that offer NFL games don't ever offer ALL of the games. I remember subscribing to one service on youtube last season that cost hundreds of dollars and it would still constantly tell me games were either blacked out or unavailable, which is totally ridiculous. Is there any one service that I can watch ALL of the games on?? It gets on my everlasting nerves already that there's so many different streaming sites and they are all expensive as hell. I don't want to take out an entire additional car payment to subscribe to 4 different streaming services to watch all the games. Is there just ONE I can subscribe to? The most comprehensive thing I have access to now is Sirius XM. It's only 10 ish bucks a month and I can listen to the home or away broadcasts of any game. Only thing is I can't WATCH the games but this seriously comes in handy if I'm out doing something, driving, or can't stay still at the moment to watch the games. But usually I'm off on Sundays, so I mostly want to watch them.
