Get use to seeing Goodson all over the place

In prior years, I might have agreed. But one thing I will say for Davidson: he is quite capable of adaptation.

His primary contributions will most likely be on special teams and as a slot receiver. Yes, barring injury he'll be the number three back behind two good leads, but you saw what the Giants did with a triple threat backfield last season (and I know John Fox saw it too).

I'm betting despite the current depth chart lineup he gets way more playing time than Goings did.

I know he can do plenty - and that Davidson can make plenty of room for a guy who can be in the slot, that can take specially designed screens, runs, trick plays, and be versatile in those roles. He could even be our wildcat guy if needed - if they don't want to work Williams in that role or want to extend it past simply taking the snap and running.

But in the end I still just think it comes down to there not being enough balls. Goodson can and very well might run all over defenses in preseason, but I just don't see him radically improving us week to week. We don't have a need for that much that Smith, Muhammad, Williams, and Stewart can't do.

Goodson has only earned one thing so far, the title of most overhyped rookie the panthers have picked up. It happens every year. People love a feel good story and will hype a rookie as the best thing since sliced bread.

Truth is he will struggle to get any playing time at all if he even makes the team.

He will make the team, the playing time is a factor tho. If he gets too much playing time, probably bad for us as an injury probably occurred.

I want to see him as a Kick Returner and getting some time in the slot.

He showed me some nice pass catching skills in that video. Would love to see him out in space like NO is trying to use Bush. Put him on a LB in space and he wins every time.

Remember how NY ran the three headed monster....Goodson could (and I said could) provide that aspect. If you can rotate three RB's in, then you are ready in the 4th to pound on the gassed defenses.

All the talk of Bates aside (who btw ended his career as a Cowboy :( ), it takes more than speed to succeed in the return game. Mark Jones wasn't fast or big but he was smart and that's why he did so well last year. Goodsen is supposed to be a very smart football player. That is what will get him on the team, as part of special teams. If he's returning the ball, he does need to be patient and wait for his blockers. That's what I picked up from that clip. Either A&M has no blockers or he didn't wait for them. Won't happen the same in the NFL.

He seems to have plenty of upside but every single rookie is always a risk at first.

His hands were ok but Im not sold on him as a WR. Time will tell but most RBs struggle in there Rookie years. ST is def where he could contribute the most this year and if he can do that then he will have a spot.
