He is going to have to learn how to get two feet down on those fade routes. Two or three of those highlight touchdowns would not have counted on Sundays. His one attempt this year happened to involve getting his feet in bounds too.

I think he will contribute and surprise this year. He can at least give us what LaFell gave us without the drops.

I remember King at UGA and was surprised where he went in the draft, but glad that we picked him up when he hit the wire.  Dude beasted out in the NFL Minor Leagues against top defenders every Saturday, and I thought he would see the field more than McNutt.  After watching McNutt's youtube vid combined with that ridiculous catch last year that was inches from a SC highlight TD, I'm intrigued.  Granted, youtube can make anyone look like an All-Pro without watching their weaknesses.  I don't see them being #1 WRs here, but I could see them being the equivalent of Baldwin and Kearse in Seattle.  We could still grab someone like Jones or Rice to bring the vet savvy and then snag Matthews in the first and Herron in the third.  Just stack Cam with weapons and let him be Cam.  It works for Brady in NE, Manning in Indy/Den, Wilson in Seattle and Brees in NO.

The "everything is okay, don't worry" group have become just as ridiculous as the "fug everything, we're all gonna die!" crowd.

Basically it's an offseason on the Carolina Huddle.

It's crazy how they attempt to rationalize everything. I remember when AE was suppose to be our #3, now we are looking at relying heavily on unproven or lower tier guys.

These highlights look pretty good. It's now or never for the answers already on the roster.

Don't know if we'll get our #1 WR out of this draft but we should most definitely take advantage of the depth and vast array of different receivers.

We aren't getting Watkins, so it looks like Benjamin and Matthews could fit the bill to eventually become that #1. I see ODB as an NFL-ready #2 receiver who can return, but definitely an upgrade over LaFell.

Gonna be an exciting draft

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
