Panthers Interested in Kenny Britt

Olsen was the panthers most dependable receiver last season. It's why he lead the team in receiving yards.

Just because he had more yards doesn't mean he was the most dependable. Smith made so many clutch catches last season.

And you're forgetting he missed pretty much 2 games.

Question about the Cam/smith issue people say existed? If Can is supposed to be the leader of this team, how can he call himself the leader if he can't handle his wrs? What kind of leader is he if he can only lead with certain types of people?

I love how every wr thread has the obligatory depth chart posts with the op free agent as the #1, Crotchery as the #2, then unknown draft picks until McNutt at the bottom. First Nicks, then Jones, now Britt. Who's the next wr we won't end up getting?

I don't know that anyone has said there were issues between Cam and Smith, but that Smith was more of a lockerroom leader than Cam.  That's less about "handling his WRs" and more about seniority and the like, I suspect.

Peyton Manning or Tom Brady could've walked into that locker room & Smitty still would've given 0 fugs. That was his franchise & he was not only the greatest player ever but the fan favorite; & he knew it.

Olsen made a lot of clutch grabs too. Like in the patriots and saints game.

Considering he has been clean for 2 years, an unguaranteed, incentive-laden contract is the way to go.  I would give him a deal that goes up in value in years 2 and 3, for example.

First year, $2m + incentives

Second year $4m + incentives

Third year $5 m
