Says Bell to compete at left tackle

Young players will complete at Safety with Harper.....didn't mention Godfrey until asked

Says DG took the media hit for 89....said it was time for a change

Cam will be back and forth between school and Camp until ready to go

Feels Cason and young guys will decide the CB position

Panthers not done upgrading roster...draft and June cuts next

That's it basically

SO IN OTHER WORDS:

-Bell will take his suckage to the other side and still get credit for nothing

-Godfrey is done in Carolina

-SS was indeed a problem

-We don't plan on RG3ing Cam

-Everyone named Josh survives

-Godfrey cut will bring in either some Oline help or a washed up WR if we don't hit on our draft.... or maybe another LB

-That's it basically

Well at least our defense is solid! No way we get anything other than WR/OL is the first 4 rounds!

This is how you turn a roster into a consistent winner or if you don't know what you're doing, a dumpster fire.

Now that the shock of the Smitty situation has died down, I'm leaning towards winner.

so that's twice now that godfrey was mentioned only because someone pressed the issue

exactly... I will say this, i feel better about Mikell and Godfrey in comparison to Harper. Harper only makes me like the enemy intel. However that's crazy money under Godrey's contract. Marty McFly was on that good stuff that year! smh

Byron Bell still in a panthers uniform tho!

And now playing at LT I mean wtf game tape do they watch? Bell should of retired after Mario Williams beat his ass like a pee wee player in weeks two, it's embarrassing the way Cams being sold short again in both protection and weapons

Not defending Bell a whole lot here but some of the sacks weren't his fault. When Cam feels the pressure from the right he rolls out without looking at the defender. I guess this comes from not trusting Byron. Bells job is to push the defender out and behind the quarterback to give him that last second to throw it. Can't do that whenever Cam is rolling out real big trying to make a play. But also, a lot of the sacks came from Bell getting beat. Hopefully he has some major transformation in the offseason and kicks ass at LT.

Rivera's comments in general concerning Smitty are annoying. He needs to not have anything negative to say about him. If smith isn't on the team last season im 110% sure he doesn't even have a job here anymore so how dare he?! (Don't waste your time debating me btw). I have no problem w/ them moving on at this point but these little back handed comments...

The buffalo game was the icing on the cake for Bells total performance he's horrific as wouldn't start anywhere else in the league, he's backup at best! Not athletic enough to play the position in mine and many others opinions, you want to suck off riveras every decision so be it but come back to me after a few games when bells benched or moed back to RT because the move has failure written all over it.

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
    • Its a good article about how pathetically bad our past drafts ('23 and '24) have been. Building the team in '23 since we weren't ready yet and taking your qb in '24 made so much more sense in hindsight. Ladd McConkey over XL is pretty much a given but not sure it does as much to change Bryce's trajectory as the author suggests.  As bad as '23 and '24 drafts were, the '25 and '26 really give me hope.
