Anyone have any advice? I normally just use Orbitz/travelocity but is there a cheaper "trick"? checking the airline sites Orbitz is about 10 bucks cheaper. Just didn't know if anyone works in travel that would have insight. Feel free to pm.me.

Try to book around 21 -31 days out.  If you can travel on Tues/Wens/ or Thursday book then .   If possible try to fly during low season Between middle January - Mar and Late Sept - Mid Nov.

Airlines have started lowering the number of flights to have less seats so prices don't fluctuate like they used to.  Once in a whiloe you will see some good sales.  Also check to see what the airline amenities and baggage fees are.  You might buy a lower ticket price but spend more for checked baggage and food.

Once you get a quote from travelocity or whatever, hold it and go check the airline website for the same flight. Often you get better options (i.e better times) or lower prices.

I have often found that travelocity will get me there with a 6:30 a.m. flight on USAir while USAir can get me a 10:00 flight

Kayak.com compares all the discount sites. Or you can try to buy your tickets at like 2am on Tuesday or Wednesday. That's when airlines have their cheaper fares online for some reason. If you are flying out of Charlotte, you can sometimes save money by driving to Greensboro and catching a flight, connecting in Charlotte, to your final destination. Even though I have higher status on US Air I still fly Delta most the time out of Charlotte because they are cheaper on many flights if you don't mind connecting through ATL.

I was going to say the same thing... nearby smaller airports can usually save some on the fares, but be sure to include extra fuel and/or parking fees at other airports.

I've heard calling the airline directly can save a little as it eliminates some of the middlemen. Never tried it though.

    • Damn Logan Jones had a good day too. Was high on him coming in as he anchored that top Iowa line and is a fire plug inside. He's gonna be 25 to start the season so maybe he slips into the 4th but I doubt it, even if C isn't a premium position. His play on the field was top notch and the combine boosted it again. Arm length is about the only knock. But guy is plug and play at C.   This is a loaded class at C. Need to grab one.
    • Bryce will be permanently replaced by a draft pick. There's not another Sam Darnold out there to save us. Tepper is going to see this throw because he dumped Mayfield and Darnold too soon. He's going to give it 1 more year before he will sign off on dumping another 1st round pick qb. Thats the cold hard truth of it. It doesn't mean we can't get younger and much better at the backup position.
    • Maybe I should have used a different word and saved that for me. I want someone that has something impressive about them.  Someone that has potential to supplant a guy who is producing 25th best type of numbers. 22nd, 27th all that bottom third neighborhood.  I don’t know where that will come from it just can’t be from even a 4th round pick this year IMO. Unless FA is crazy productive.    I’ll give Bryce a better than bottom rating for his playoff game. Well above low twenties. But at least half of his games were bottom third level. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of them were.
