Well, the point is that Lewan *DOES* have "nasty background information".  Not to mention criminal charges against him.

 

Which is why Miller has him dropping in his mock.

Any draft that has Allen Robinson makes me cringe. That said, it would be amazing if Lewan falls all the way to 28.

Why?

If not lewan, someone will fall. If that someone doesn't fit a position of need for us then it will be a perfect time to trade down. No idea who but someone we don't expect will be available such as lewan, Martin, ebron, Clinton Dix, Evans, who knows. The guys I think would be most valuable for trade bait (and who we don't want ourselves) are DE, QB or 3-4 OLB

All these "worst case scenario" drafts people speak of mean that extreme value at positions less desirable to us would be there.

I think he's one of the safest prospects, just maybe not. #1

Some issues I have here...

 

- Don't see much likelihood of the Vikes taking Johnny Manziel.  Zimmer's not a fan.  Blake Bortles might make more sense there.

 

- The Jets taking Odell Beckham over Brandin Cooks?

 

- The eagles taking Calvin Pryor over Brandin Cooks?

 

- The Dolphins taking Zack Martin over Taylor Lewan?

 

Anything's possible but most of these would surprise me.

The Dolphins GM and owner has character as a MAJOR part of their evaluation. A prospect with concerns/baggage will almost certainly be off their board.

 

The caveat to that is that Ross is a Michigan alum, so he might be a bit flexible towards Lewan and bend his rules for him.

You could also argue the Chip Kelly's ego and belief in his system could make him less concerned with a WR and more so with a stud safety prospect.
