With these one year deals won't we be in the same situation we were this year next year if these guys out perform their contracts.

One year deal players are nothing more than band aids that Gettleman is hoping can get the job done for one season. Sure we could loose them like Ginn and Mitchell but right now we can't afford to keep them and have the core of our team in tact. We take small risk and continue to sign vet minimum one year deals and hope for the best until we are out of cap hell.

I don't know the numbers because I don't know what cam and keek will make. But what we will know for sure is that the money we spend will be well worth it.

We couldn't say the same years past

again that is not the point. if you don't know the numbers it cannot be said well worth it.Just moving money around and staying in same situation, or condition is not well worth it.If we don't gain something under the cap then it is not worth it.so I know some have the whole cap thing worked out, that is the question can we gain good space in the cap number after signing Cam and Luke to move past the current 1 year contract mode of operation?

OK so when do we get out of cap hell?

Hopefully next year. Hurney really screwed us by signing players like Williams and Godfrey to huge deals. I actually like us finding talent with these one year vet min deals. Depth is a key to winning and by only paying depth small contracts we can save up money for upcoming contracts like Cam and Luke.

Honestly I feel like we are the Patriots by filling our roster with all these UDFA and vet min contracts and still have a winning record.

I know about the Hurney saga what about moving forward? I don't like the idea of doing the 1 year contract thing every year.

How many of these signings are for players considered critical to our core group?  Anyone we want to keep are on 2 year contracts.  Other guys are either on show me contracts or are stop gap guys while we build through the draft.  Will we be in the same situation next year?  I can think of around 18 million in dead cap money going away and with the cap increasing it should give us at least 25 million to play with.  Either Hardy will be signed long term which lowers his 13 million cap hit or he will be gone which save the whole 13 million.  Does anyone think that we are going to pay CJ 19 million next year??  I don't know all the particulars but honestly I think we will be much better off next year and can lock up the players we want including Cam or we will have drafted the 1 year rentals replacement and they will cheap for several years.
