Kevin Weidl from ESPN on Morgan Moses

Listening to WFNZ today and Kevin said if Moses is there at 28  GMAN should sprint to the podium and take him.

He even said if he falls to 20 we should trade up to get him. He said that Moses is climbing up the boards of teams and is a legit LT.

He went on to say we should be able to get two WRs that will be impact players as deep as the 4th round.

Sounds smart if you ask me.  Long Arms, good feet, not much power in run blocking, but Gross was not a beast in that area either.

Do you pass on Cooks or Beckham or Lee to take Moses?

Here is another question--If Moses moves up boards, do you take Zack Martin over the guys mentioned above?

Offensive line in the first round...

Would I be in favor of that? Hmmmmm

That question has been bugging me because there is a drop off after the top 3.  How good is Moses and is he really a legit LT?  If so, yes.  But people make general assumptions and announce to the world their epiphany (word carefully chosen because Moses is the subject) as if it was a well-preserved secret that Moses can play LT on the NFL level.  If this was not obvious in December, why does the fog clear in April?

If he can play, then we take him.  All that talk about Bell turns out to be a smokescreen.  It will be hard if a stud WR is on the table, but at 60 we could land a quality WR who would make us better.

If Gettleman is as sure as Weidl that Moses is the man I say you have to take him. The draft is very deep at WR.

I am now ready for my Huddle beat down for my comment above.Let the insults begin.

If you look at the history of first rounders at WR, it does not give you courage. Moses would be the safe pick, possibly the best pick if he plays LT.

Take a look at franchise tag salaries and you can see what positions are worth--supply and demand. An average LT salary is way higher than an average WR salary.  That means they are more rare.

More points:

Gettlemen likes the big boys.

T is a safer pick.

A T impacts nearly every play.  A WR impacts some plays.

We are in a conference that has put a focus lately on pressuring the QB--New Orleans and Rob Ryan, Atlanta wants Clowney, and the Bucs are about to become Lovie's team.

We need a starter NOW.  Moses is a starter from day 1.

Moses is a high character guy.  That means a lot to DG and JR.

There are quality WRs through the second round, but the T supply dips dramatically after Zack Martin/Moses. Tiny RIchardson and Cyrus' knees hurt the supply--more question marks.Mewhort projects to RT, Bitonio's arms are a bit short and he could be a guard.  Turner is from a small school and has little quality tape.  Hurst has the broken leg---

WR in the second round probably eliminates your chance of getting a game-changing #1, but few become that anyway.

    • The hell happened to our Te's...I gigured Evans would get a biggercroke coming off the bye week? Sanders?? He might need to put that weight back on. He's been about as underwhelming as Wonnum. And Tremble looks nothing like he used to btw.  Xavier in the top 5? Nah...Moton in the top 5? Pretty sure I saw him getting beat multiple times 3rd/4th qtr.
    • I agree 100%.  Just to add, ANYONE that wants to sign BY to some 300+ million nightmare/contract, they can kick rocks first.  Like you said, brad adds nothing. This is war, just bring in a bright forward thinking OC that's going to come up with new plays and ........a fing game plan to beat a 1-8 or 3-10 team...... challenge the defense to defend every blade of grass and evolve this team.... By my eyes Dave is just another Ron Fox wilks 4.2 with his only success being if the score is low and able to run enough...(minus one game.) fug that, thats another big issue, Im just sick of the coach hires, its too many since Rhule.  Dave has earned the right to stay, but.......If Dave doesn't want his pilates lover to go be a video assistant for underdawg or whatever betting site that gives him a salary. Peace out bro....
    • If it were that simple, Reich and Canales would have already done it. The next HC would have the same happen. If Canales is gone, I wouldn't be surprised if Tepper elevates Evero to keep him around with Bryce, Tremble and Chuba as agreed upon long term offensive pieces. I believe Reich and Canales would have gone different directions at QB and DC if they were allowed. Wilks even made it known this organization doesn't make the HC the primary partner in personnel decisions. Before the HC even gets a chance it likely goes Nicole > David > Dan > Brandt > Eric > Benjamin 1 > Benjamin 2 > HC I highly doubt hanging the HC wouldn't fix all the problems over his head.
