Couple of things I find interesting...

Sounds like everyone now has a full sense that "no one is safe".

Frankly, a newfound sense of competition sounds like a pretty good thing after a 12-4 season.

And this...

Granted Ryan is not in the front office, but if he's right it really sounds like the panthers want Wharton back.  The uncertainty apparently is on the part of Wharton, not the team.

He basically said our LG position is worrisome without Wharton.

I agree because Silatolu is shakey at LG.  Probably a better fit at RG.   But everyone is going to say that's not the case without even paying close attention to him (NFL rewind ftw).   Then they are going to say he was solid or something like that when he actually wasn't (especially in pass situations, not so much run). The left side improved dramatically once Wharton arrived but that will be discounted as well.  He is an awesome run blocker but not a good pass blocker.

true, but I'm not giving up hope.  He started as a rookie coming out of a small school.  Now he's been in the system

for 2 years and has some experience plus a chance to sit back and watch a lot of tape.  I'm hoping everything is coming together for him, and he becomes a very good starter this year at either position.

That said, Hurney drafted him.

    • Young quarterbacks Drake Maye, Bo Nix, and Bryce Young have led their teams to undefeated records since October.   Drake Maye has guided the New England Patriots to a 5-0 record in that period, with 2,285 passing yards and 17 touchdowns in nine games. Bo Nix has directed the Denver Broncos to a 5-0 stretch, throwing for 1,976 yards and 17 touchdowns, contributing to a 7-2 overall start. Bryce Young, in his second season, has led the Carolina Panthers to a 4-0 run since October, accumulating 1,390 yards and 11 touchdowns amid a 4-4 record.   Undefeated QBs since start of October (min. 4 starts)   Drake Maye 5-0 Bo Nix 5-0 Bryce Young 4-0   Bryce Young when asked about his mindset during game winning drives: "You don’t rise to the occasion you fall back to the level of your training."
    • 1. Cowboys-No explanation needed. 2. Rest of NFC South equally. If I had to pick I would say Falcons.    3. Eagles- Both of the games I have attended there the fans were so horrible. The fan base is so ridiculously misbehaved, I’ve never seen such immaturity. 4- Lions- I have cousins in Michigan that grew up Lions fans and they are some of the most obnoxious people I have ever met, as are all of their Lions buddies. The NFL has been lucky that Detroit has been in the cellar for its eternity.    5. Tie between Bears and Vikings. Both act like Steelers, Cowboys, Niners fans do with nostalgia and legendary seasons but neither have ever really had them. They act like they each won 5 super bowls in previous decades but never accomplished poo outside of Chicago in 85.
    • You play the Saints that is great news for your O line.
