So great. When can we hire him as a kicking coach? :)

If anyone deserves a statue outside of Panthers Stadium its John Kasay !  He should have never been released...

Probably responsible for as many Panthers wins as any other player not named Steve Smith.  Kasay deserves to be honored.

Glad to see him retire as a Panther.

I can't put it top 3.  Let's see, in no particular order...

Armanti Edwards

Everette Brown

Jimmy Clausen

Eric Shelton

DeAngelo Williams contract

Jon Beason contract

Fua/McClain

Dwayne Jarrett

I'll give him a pass on Keary Colbert and Otah as both guys proved early on that they had the talent to be starters in the NFL if they had the want to.

The rest of the NFL saved Hurney from his ultimate fail.  Word is that he was trying like hell to trade our next year's 1st rounder to trade up to take Clausen.  Just think about it... he tried to trade what would end up being the #1 overall pick for Jimmy fugin Clausen.  Just think about the situation we'd be in right now if that would've happened.  Absolutely hopeless.

Everette Brown should be at the top.  We gave up a first for him.  Armanti has at least played and we only gave up a second for him.

Offer him a Godzilla-sized statue if he agrees to kick for one more season.

releasing him was the right thing to do. replacing him with the scrubs we replaced him with was the mistake.

that said....

to the last of the originals and one of the greatest of all time....standing-ovation-o.gifthank you, kasay.

Glad to hear.

A load of games were won on his leg.

Thanks John. You were great.

Wouldn't it be a shame if the 'day' line in his contract was replaced by the word 'year'?

Woops, guess you have to play this out John.

i taught his kids how to swim at carmel country club. instead of a best buy gift card like the other parents, he gave me a bible.

he gave people bibles on halloween.

ive got like six bibles somewhere that john kasay gave me.

i remember his legs being huge.

Classy guy, I wish him the best!

Jake....you are now on the clock....come back home good buddy!

Hopefully he doesn't boot the pen he's going to sign the contract with out of bounds.

He shoulda never had to taint himself with another jersey. Just another Hurney fug up.

i think he played with the Seahawks before coming to Carolina, it is a business never forget that

I <3 Kasay

Miss you!!!

sometimes you don't know how good you have it till it's gone.

Thanks for everything Kasay.

One of my favorites all time. He makes my top 5 because of the type of stand up christian he is too. I didn't think he got the credit he was due as a field goal specialist. He was money under 45 yards guaranteed.

He gave us tons of memorable wins!!! People like to bring up the Superbowl and blame Kasey but under the John Fox football model Kasey was one of the reasons we made it that far.

Great gesture and fully deserved.

He was the rock for many players.  He's a wonderful person and so deserved of retiring in style.  Thanks, John Kasay, for all the memories.  As Eisen likes to say, "Kickers are people too."

Edit:  His retirement speech was short and sweet.  Class all the way.  "I can't write 70,000 thank you notes" lol

Love you John!
