Carolina Panthers - Potential cap casualties
strato replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am fine with upgrading on the cheap. I do not want to spend a day one or day two pick nor do I want to be in the Pitts FA sweepstakes. -

Look, am I gonna be super upset at him being cut? No. But he has been one of the extremely few solid players on our front seven. That ain't worth a raise or a long term extension but it's probably worth not tinkering with when there are significantly more overpaid players on that side of the ball(Wharton, Brown, etc). -

He’s okay….but that’s still a pretty high cap number. He only had 2.5 sacks, and was 35th in hurries. He’s good at batted passes at 3 which is 13th best but all his stats were basically down year over year. He’s still good at run defense, and I honestly think he’s a good locker room presence, and would be happy with a 1 year extension at a lower salary to level it out. I also would not be surprised if they decide they could use that 9.5 million to upgrade another position group, or use that money to help get a higher profile FA like a top tier LB, OLB, DE, or speed WR -
He noped out of the Browns HC interview lol

Agreed. But, the cost to upgrade should be very small. -
Mike McDaniel to the Chargers as offensive coordinator. Probably could have got a HC gig this cycle if he wanted. if you were curious what an actual high level offensive mind thinks about Justin Herbert
-
Most of those guys will be available at oue 2nd round pick too.
-
Oof, as a Pack fan, Bailey has a lot left to be desired. I'm not sure he'll ever be first round material.
-
Davis was a converted safety and a very high level athlete, though. Hopefully he tests out well.

Just don’t downgrade. I am not fan attached to Tremble but we are thin in that room now. -

Evans is very cheap and arguably as good as Tremble. Sanders is a bust. If Tremble is very cheap, no issue with a resigning. Still need an upgrade, though. -

A’Shawn is alright with me. Asset. I suspect they could renegotiate with Tremble but I probably wouldn’t say that if Sanders had been decent. We would be thin. -

Paying Tommy Tremble ANYTHING would be too much. I'd rather buy one of those motorized blocking dummies and line it up at TE on Sundays. -

He doesn't. He is also one of the extremely few effective pass rushers. Tremble is as JAG as JAG gets. -
What about McDermott for head coach?
SmokinwithWilly replied to Panthero's topic in Carolina Panthers
Half of them probably played here at one point anyway -

You all are this high on Robinson? I have felt like he gets mauled in the run game for such a big guy. Certainly not worth 9.5 mil per. Tremble is the only guy I would try to work out a deal with. Might be our best tight end currently (not saying a lot, but he has made plays) -
It's actually quite comical that Brady as an OC, and Baker and Darnold as QBs were so limited by awful coaching here and have gone on to thrive elsewhere.
-
Wow Baker held no punches lol
-
Check out Cincinnati's Golday. I am seeing Lukish qualities (smarts, size, speed, etc)

I’m just reporting my experience at the game. I don’t really care if anyone believes me. I’m not posting here for credibility, I’m just sharing what I know and what’s going on. Yes Willis was plastered, and Tuchs uncle showed several pictures of Tuch after games. I think he was from Vermont. Anyways, he was with some canes fans that are family, and one of those family members is on the board and talked about projects going on around the arena. They were going to hang out with Alex after the game. Again, don’t care if you believe me, just stating what went on yesterday.
-
Double dip and put the guys starting in 2025 on 2nd team, we will be straight at LB.

Tarheels beating Coach K twice to end his career is chef’s kiss
