So you are a Carolina fan, and the administration knows this, if Carolina goes to the SEC they will be below Vandy and you and I both know I’m not kidding, they have not been the greatest and basketball lately either. It would be an absolute disaster for Carolina to go to the SEC. Look at SC, they may finally have something this year but they left the ACC in what? The 80’s? What have they done in the SEC in 40 years? That will be any ACC school that goes to the SEC or the Big 10 and they know it. Especially Carolina, they have nothing to offer the SEC, we already know that Clemson and FSU has been denied by the board, they couldn’t go if they wanted to…where would they go?

Amazed packers didn't find Parsons injury
csx replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
This wasn't unknown to the public. It was covered previous to the trade and going back to June in the media. So the Packers would know. It probably just isnt considered significant. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46097336/cowboys-appear-open-micah-parsons-trade-offers -
He said his conditioning in camp was a problem and the plan was for him to go to the PS to work on that. When the Adam thing happened, they decided to have him join the 53. The plan is still for him to work on his conditioning for the time being. He may be inactive or he may just play a few times here and there.

If the lowly Saints cut him this late he must be really bad.

Are trades like these not pending a physical? It was public knowledge he was dealing with an injury at some level regardless so no one with the Packers can plead ignorance altogether. -

Im sure he had to pass a physical as part of the deal. The Packers had to have known to pay a price that high. If they didn't, there's no lemon law in the NFL. -

There are no “good” safeties cut a week before the season starts. -

Saints just released a good safety

This is akin to calling Karl Hamilton a good WR. He's a special teamer pushing 30. They probably found someone younger and cheaper who can do it and maybe actually play safety too. -

According to PFF which our team cares greatly about seemingly, he was garbage. 168th/171 strong safeties. Terrible overall grade at 37.6 with a 43.5 coverage grade. https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/jt-gray/51495 -
he would be a great add. probably the best specialist over the past 5 years

The reason is that it was the only viable option for both parties. The SEC and Big10 weren't an option for those schools and any schools those conferences would want weren't an option for the ACC. Finnebaum is already saying that UNC to the SEC is gonna happen, it's now just a question of who's coming along with them and when those schools will pull the plug on the buyout. Buyout is $165M currently but drops by $18M per year until bottoming it at $75M in '30-'31. That's pretty much the ACC's expiration date and it may not last that long.

The ACC is the third beast conference in college sports taking in all sports, there’s a reason SMU and cal come to the ACC. They will not dissolve. Some may leave like Maryland who has had zero success since leaving Clemson, FSU, Miami and / or Carolina would all be stupid to leave and be the 4th or 5th best anywhere else and never sniff a playoff birth again. The ACC will not be gone in 3 or 4 years.

Finebaum has not been disappointing so far. Extra salty callers today.

Absolutely gonna happen.

Not going to happen

Nick Underhill @nick_underhill Saints released S J.T. Gray, per source special teams demon, 3x all pro apparently 29 years old also was a captain at least one year Gray, who joined the Saints in 2018 as an undrafted rookie free agent, was a special teams standout and team captain. He has been a first-team All-Pro Selection twice and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2021 as a special teamer. he was going to make about 3.5 mill this year, we can get him for less than that I'm sure. Not sure how good he is at safety though

Doubt it would have changed anything. The opportunity to get a top player at a premium position at his age is so rare. -

True and as a Clemson fan I’m really not living in present day college football like most. So I’m still getting a bigger slice of the way it was than your average college football fan. We still tuning in to watch year 4 of the of the guys that have been on the roster and watching the same kids year after year. to an extent, Clemson is as good as it gets as a college football fan. But that’s just today. Will it keep us from another natty? Probably, but we got about 3-5 more years of sorta watching college football as I like it. Would our odds of winning a natty be stronger if we just hired the top merc at RB for this year and whatnot? Sure. That was THE spot to fix. But I’ll just enjoy moaning about our longtime WR converted to RB and which freshman can grow into it as this, they way it is ride is almost over

from Adam Shefter I dont think this has been posted Packers LB Micah Parsons has been dealing with an L4/L5 facet joint sprain in his back and he may take an epidural injection prior to Sunday’s game vs. the Lions if needed to help him play, per sources. Before trading Parsons last week, the Cowboys prescribed him a five-day plan of an anti-Inflammatory corticosteroid, a prednisone to help him recover from back tightness. They also had him on a physical therapy program. Parsons has been practicing this week and he is trying to play in Sunday’s opener vs. the Lions, though one source said it still is uncertain if he will.
