  1. Past hour
  2. No one is eliminated yet. But some are in a race to the bottom, it is too early to call that one too. Where are we headed? Are the Ravens really gonna bottom out all year? would you really say they are in that race to the bottom? The race really hasn’t started is more my angle.
  3. Technically sure we are in the race but everyone else is too. Will there even be a real race between us and TB - because a wild card coming from the NFCS seems unlikely. I wonder if the head dudes really believe we have a shot or are we in a developmental year. And that evaluation is sort of fluid at this early stage.
  4. I think less for the top round people, everyone knows who they are and the GMs go in person to their pro days and stuff. And in Marty’s case specifically he didn’t come up as a scout, he moved from the newspaper office to the NFL front office, in contrast with a guy like Gettleman who came up the scout ladder. The sheer volume of players when you get into the 3rd day and undrafted, I’d be leaning on them for a lot of help. I am curious about it how that really works after they submit their reports and it gets into narrowing the players down to a smaller group.
  5. We're all such abused spouses around here, many folks think that Bryce's "good" is acceptable consistent QB play in the NFL. Some will take sub-mediocre performances where he doesn't outright lose the game and say he was great. This is what the last eight years has done to this fanbase.
  6. And give him a raise. More money will do the trick.
  7. Today
  8. Well having a healthy Brown is the biggest difference IMO. Best player on the D. last years average was 5.2 yards a run and it's 4.5 this year so far. And that's with Brown back.
  9. Yeah they should probably give it 4 more years to be safe
  10. ......did it really take less than a page to turn a thread about Nic Scourton into whining about Bryce Young?
  11. I think everyone just needs to relax. Bill needs more time - he has 6 SuperBowl rings, he knows what he's doing...
  12. Stud just need quality LBs behind him to maximise his presence
  13. Isn’t this the norm? Very few teams, if any, have 4-5 players pan out per draft.
  14. All general managers rely on scouts.
  15. McCaffrey was Gettleman. But yeah, Hurney never misses in the first round. Greatest GM when it comes to first round picks.
  16. I think you have it the other way around. We aren't "out of the race for the playoffs" which makes it more likely to play him than if we were winless.
  17. We are one game behind a wild card spot lol.
  18. The one that still blows my mind was if Burns hadn't been available Hurney was going to take Greg Little. He had a 1st round grade on him after that horrendous combine. We got so damn lucky Snyder drafted Haskins
  19. I need to actually do a full analysis but I think the issue was more that we'd rarely have top-to-bottom awesome drafts but we'd frequently have drafts where only 2-3 players panned out, but the 1st is a Pro Bowler and the other two solid starters or backups. We rarely had drafts where only 1 player was good, and we never had absolute useless drafts. At the very least we always had one really, really good guy. The worst was probably 2005 where we got Thomas Davis (Hall of Honor-quality player) and Geoff Hangartener. Evan Mathis was good, but only after he left.
  20. Hurney wasn’t good with contracts but I think he was probably above average at drafting. Not saying he was great. Just that most draft classes are worthless.
  21. Ehh, teams earlier this season double and tripled teamed him with decent success. The reason he beasted out so much with Miami was for some reason they did not much at all. Bad call on their part. But that is his purpose. If he is eating up people that is huge, and theoretically should give others the ability to make a play. But his surrounding cast to do that isn’t great. Brown is something OCs have to put a lot of time to plan for.
  22. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1cJoCZu0EQ probably more of an offseason topic but this came up on my YouTube recs and figured it was something to share
  23. So who was evaluating? They have a different team for the first round? Crazy how lopsided it is. (I mean, Hurney was a sports writer before the NFL not a scout).
  24. Well seeing as we aren’t yet in a race for the playoffs if it takes another week, it takes another week. He has been out more games than I expected. That situation was some fuged up timing if you believe the official timeline. I don’t know what to think about that.
  25. Hurney in the 1st round Hurney after the 1st round
