  1. Past hour
  2. Not when said QB is Josh Allen, it would be like when Andy Reid retires in the next few years and KC making the hire without involving Mahomes in the discussion at all. When you have a QB like they, they 100% should be involved in the discussions to make sure there is alignment and the QB/HC will mesh well together. I'm sure they didn't just let him make the decision as that would be dumb, but it would be even dumber to have not involved him in the process at all.
  3. The press conference was ugly and would make any coach a little concerned about working for said owner. But HC jobs for the team with the best QB in the league in the middle of his prime don't come around too often. I think every candidate would be able to look past the owner in this situation to get a chance at having Allen's prime years to chase a ring. I still think if they lose in the first round and thus fired McDermott a week earlier, Harbaugh very likely would have been their next HC, but this all happened after he was already lined up with the Giants.
  4. Some QBs take several years to become a good starting QB. Sadly this league has no patience, like they did in the past. Aaron Rodgers, Mike Vick never really saw any playing time their rookie years. They sat back and watched a professional QB. Left out Jake Delhomme. Now every once in a while you get a guy in his rookie year that blows poo up like Cam but that is not common.
  5. My main beef with EE is that he completely misuses Horn, even with a pass rush and better linebackers he is still will not let Horn on their best player for the majority of the snaps. Its frustrating
  6. I remember drafting him for my fantasy league when he came out of college and it cost me a Superbowl smh seeing ghosts. When he was traded here, my wife bought me PSL , and I hated on him then. After the last two years I will admit he has proven me wrong...and I have accepted that... because I know now Young has the same chance to prove why he went number 1 as well, I just hope it's for us.
  7. Always a classy guy. Showed progress his final season here, but we can never fool ourselves, he would not be who he is staying here, he would have plateaued. Smartest thing he ever did was take the backup role in SF and learn in the Shannahan system. HE followed that to Minnesota where he had elite Recievers and a smart offensive head coach who operates a similar system. he developed there and now has the knowledge to go with the physical tools he has to succeed at a high level.
  8. I love Tyson. I think he will be fantastic, but would we really pay 3 young WR’s 2nd big money contracts down the road? Seems like a poor allocation of resources in a salary cap word if we plan on keeping TMac and Coker long term.
  9. At least we didn't toss Sam to the side after going 14-3 with him. Vikings fans have to be on sui watch.
  10. Exactly! I'm going to go off on a limb here and guess the two above Horn are probably two of the more recently paid top CBs in the league. That's just how it works. Some players that can cover the middle of the field plus a pass rush would do wonders for our CBs.
  11. Pure class. Wish he had never gotten hurt in that 2022 pre-season or things might have been different. Pat Mahomes would have been a loser with Rhule at the helm, it is what it is.
  12. We really didn't give him much of a chance. Our entire team was in shambles, and he didn't have much help here. He balled out against LA and he's proven he can win big games. We gave up on him way too soon. Good luck to him.
  13. The sweep had a whole lot to do with a QB who couldn't eclipse 200 yards passing to save his life. I would argue that's the primary culprit. Plenty of blame to go around.
  14. Guy has been giving his all with 5 different franchises and has been kicked to the curb again and again. He never talks down about his previous teams or players. Seems like an upstanding dude who has earned his chance. Happy that between Mayfield and him, he gets to go and try for a ring.
  15. He was a solid defensive coordinator here but I don’t really see why McDermott should be held in much higher regard than Ron Rivera on the whole. Sean got his own Cam Newton like Ron and still couldn't get past the conference championship
  16. Joe Brady has some incriminating pictures of Pegula....
  17. It was 5, (4 of them by Allen)…but who’s counting?
  18. Reading some of the wisecracks in this thread you would think the Panthers steamrolled their way into the division title and the playoffs instead of being swept by the Saints splitting with the imploding Bucs. Keep your sense of humor boys you're gonna need it with the upcoming opponents.
  19. I think a lot of people look back with rose tinted glasses at the McDermott defense years. They were one of the worst in the league his first season, and their ascendancy had a lot to do with Gettleman finally drafting some defensive tackles (Hurneys most glaring flaw during his first time as GM) and landing one of the best defenders of his generation. Plus Thomas Davis’ turning from tissue paper into tungsten steel. he used very simple concepts in the secondary. It was so easy that courtland finnegan showed up off the street after tillmans injury in 2015 and was starting that week. 2015 was also a year where teams fooled themselves into thinking Josh Norman was the best db in the nfl. I can’t prove this obviously but I really think he made one insane interception against the saints in week 2 or 3 (and it was a fuging sick interception to be fair) and teams just freaked out and decided he was early 90s Deion. I mean he was mentioned in songs by JayZ for crying out loud Prior to 2015 he had one promising season, was benched for one, and then never came close to that lvl of success again even when he reunited with McDermott in Buffalo. he was benefitted from kuechly being so good playing MLB that the middle of the field for twenty yards was a no go zone for other teams. mcdermott was also running Rivera’s defense. I think at the end of the day he was always more of a GM type coach and not a strict XO guy, an accusation that has followed him to buffalo. he would never come here to play second fiddle to Canales, who’s a complete fraud. He also probably needs a year off just to reload. I can’t imagine getting knifed like that after making Buffalo relevant for the first time in a quarter century. 2027 will be the year McDermott returns and he hires Luke as his DC. Print the shirts.
  20. I mean we're splitting hairs there. Based on annual salary he is currently the third highest paid in the NFL. He's gotta step his game up and continue to step into the role. I certainly hope he does and he's largely an easy player to root for. I can appreciate speaking up for "our guys" but getting swept by the rebuilding Saints with the division and playoffs on the line and just waving that off sounds like a loser mentality but that's just my opinion.
  21. The thing is he won't be paid like a top 3 corner in another year. That's the whole point of locking those contracts in early. Also, I think he's very much in the conversation among the best in the game regardless of what he's paid. Chris Olave has his number for whatever reason. The best corners in the game almost always run into someone who's got them figured out. He pretty much dominated everyone else all season. When you factor in the nonexistent pass rush it only further cements his status as one of the best.
  22. Firing McDermott to hire Joe Brady is one of the dumbest things I've seen
  23. He's talented and a good locker room presence but in no way is he a top 3 corner like he is being paid.
