Renfrow has said the Panthers are the only team he'd play for so this cut could just be an fancy way to get an extra roster spot. They can sign him back at any time whenever the first injury hits the team. It's also very possible they want to go young or that it was a special teams thing. I'm a big Renfrow fan and wish him continued good health. Would love to bring him back as a coach if his playing days are really over.

Names that I'm interested in: QB: Tyler Huntley, Bailey Zappe, Tommy DeVito, Dorian Thompson-Robinson WR: Malachi Corley (YAC God got waived!?), Jha'Quan Jackson, Xavier Restrepo TE: Jaheim Bell, TE Tre McKitty, Cameron Latu DL: Marlon Tuipulotu EDGE: Julian Okwara, Antwaun Powell-Ryland, Fadil Diggs LB: Jamin Davis, Chad Muma, Chazz Surratt CB: Tariq Castro-Fields, Zy Alexander, O'Donnell Fortune, Mike Hilton S: Sam Franklin Jr, Israel Mukuamu K: Caden Davis, Dustin Hopkins

He looked decent filling in during that Kansas City game. Regardless WRs this deep on the roster are special teams players primarily.
-
I wouldn't be shocked if this isnt the end of Renfrow here.

Everything revolves around Bryce This Year

Just sink or swim. Don't be middling. Give us the answer one way or the other, don't leave it in gray area.- 1 reply

You. Like Icege. Who is once again spamming poo reactions on my posts despite having me on ignore and apparently having endless amounts of time on his hands to do so. Are just as toxic as those you accuse others of. You can keep flailing and complaining about the posts. You are also the same one who made it a point to complain endlessly about how negative the board is but here you going off the deep end and making it personal because you are being exposed to points that challenge your narrative. I will continue to visit the huddle hoping this franchise and our first overall pick in particular can somehow turn things around. You can keep attacking others and pretending to be this impartial beacon of productive conversation in a sea of darkness if it makes you feel better. Do what makes you happy bud.

I wonder if the hammy is still an issue? He immediately reached for it after that hospital ball in the final PS game. I'd still rather have Renfrow on PUP vs. Moore active.
-
Don't care about Cherelus, but in terms of Brown vs Simmons, we certainly made the right choice.
-
So you are trying to make people ignore you? Sounds like trolling...
-
I am not that surprised. His health issues have been significant. It was between him, Horn and Moore, and I guess the coach decided to go with younger/healthier.
-
got another one
-
Oh my goodness thank you for pointing out this feature
-
We have never had a receiver that is better at actually catching the ball than Thielen. He may be older and not as fast as he once was, but no one can legitimately say he can't catch. I think Coker and Sanders are pretty good at it as well.
-
There is a 100% correlation between fans overreacting to Renfrow not being WR 6/7 on our depth chart and Clemson fans.
-
You can’t tell me Moore and Tremayne are better playing WR than Renfrow
-
I mean, you are sort of speaking out both sides of your mouth with that, right? So, one hopes we aren't treating these roster spots like lottery scratch offs. This is based in things the coaching staff have seen to believe these guys are worthy of the roster and have value to add. Not just "maybe this will work out." That being the case, the staff also believes that Moore adds more value than Renfrow. You can disagree with any assessment you want but it's pretty tough to make the "lottery ticket" argument work for Hunter Renfrow.

Official Panthers Roster Cuts (Updated)

No way we should keep Moore over Renfrow! -
18 first downs last season as a 5th or 6th option. 3 TDs. Don't get the hate.
-
well, what the problem w/ our offense? If you had to define the primary issues? well, David Moore is the total package of all those issues wrapped up into one player. So yeah, the feel good local product and watching his comeback was easily a better sell to the fanbase. There isn't going to be a TON to enjoy this year.
-
I get Renfrow is easy to like but he is a year removed from the league in which he had some pretty pedestrian stats his last two active seasons. Throw in the fact he is already having some injury issues holding him back I can understand why he was released.
-
Not Panthers games. We generally get our asses kicked.
-
Lol, not a single condescending post was made in this thread until you, Mr. “put away the violin”. Derail, derail, derail then all you ever have to say is “oh you’re just carrying water.” I see it every day from you and I have made it a point to not talk to you for a while now, so you pretending like I’m some exception is hilarious. Everybody is tired of it dude, give it a rest.
-
Horn and Tremayne are rookies with unknown potential and ceilings. I'm cool w/ that given we are a development team. David Moore just adds nothing to the equation. Doing lots poorly isn't really a plus. Hunter Renfrow is the best short route runner on the roster and would have been quick and easy pass option for Bryce to help move chains if called upon (no one gets open on this roster for Bryce to get easy throws).
-
I don't get the vitriol for Moore. Just pretend he committed to Clemson. He's a decent player for a WR6. If a game comes down to him or Renfrow, it's on whoever was ahead of them anyway.
