With the Icky injury and Moton needing an heir apparent
Khyber53 replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
I get ya. Really, I'm a best player available guy when it comes to picking where we are. And that is really what probably contributes to a lot of good teams being built for the long run, rather than those who find themselves regularly picking near the top of the draft. We've had our share of high picks... -
As a Penn State alum I was excited to see everyone return, truth is I think we came into the year a bit over confident coming off last season. Had a slow start and poor depth at LB once Rojas went down, and once Franklin was fired the season was essentially over. From a character perspective DDS is a 10/10 guy, hardworking and incredibly loyal. Nobody expected him to return for his senior year, but he did to try win us a Natty. He also played the entire bowl game this year against Clemson which is rare to see as a high end senior prospect.

Official Carolina Huddle Super Bowl LX Thread
Anybodyhome replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Both of New England's TDs were scored when Maye went into "wing it and fling it" mode. As Deac said, when he did run, he ran well. And, while some of the criticism of Sam Darnold may be warranted, Super Bowl history is littered with QBs who didn't light up the scoreboard but still came away with championships. Matter of fact, ever seen the list of Super Bowl winning QBs who didn't even throw a TD pass? Namath SB3, Griese SB8, McMahon SB20, Aikman SB28, Elway SB32, Roethlisberger SB40, Peyton Manning SB 50, Brady SB53. -
NFL.com mock draft: Panthers trade up for Reuben Bain
LinvilleGorge replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nope. Don't do that. We need an infusion of talent, not going all in one prospect. Especially a pass rusher. We already drafted two in the 2nd last year and they usually take 2-3 years of development. We should honestly try to add an impact vet there in free agent and focus elsewhere in the draft. We don't need more young developmental talent there. We have that. We need someone who can step in and add an impact day one. -
Im thinking 6ish

But evidently the Raiders want a Micah Parsons caliber trade package for him. Now of course that's what they're going to say to open up the bidding but I can't see them coming close to that. One, Crosby is damn good but he's not Micah Parsons. Two, Parsons is two years younger. He had just turned 26 at the time he was traded. Crosby will have just turned 29 at the start of next season. That's a significant difference. Barring injury issues, Crosby should still have a few years of high level play left but you're talking about trading for a player on track to be a first ballot HOFer in the middle of his prime years versus trading for a player on track to potentially be in the HOF discussion toward the end of his prime years. I just can't see Crosby fetching them a Parsons type package. Considerably less. If the Raiders stick to that Parsons precedent this is gonna get ugly.

I suspect a bunch on here and in the local media are going to be wildly shocked when Vegas shows its over under win total for us

Who is going to take a shot at Malik Willis

I suspect Rodgers is gonna run it back one more time with McCarthy in Pittsburgh but we'll see. -

Panthero replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bain is largely considered one of the "stand up citizens" type players. Likely a zero problems issue and a great talent but thats a wild price to pay for a guy. I have no doubt hes a long term plus starter in the NFL based on his coaching and attitude. We almost got him at Auburn with coach Roc Bellantoni. Glad he went to Miami though, Jason Taylor as a coach? Yes, please. -

Panthero replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
I see the logic, but I want a guy who starts and contributes huge minutes out of the gate. Edges seem to often take longest to mature given they go up against such badasses in the starting OTs. I think we should get an experienced rush edge to pair with ****** and let Princely develop as a backup until he catches on. At our pick I don't see day one type guys. Maybe Mesidor, but hes 25. Doubt Dan takes a guy thats already older like that. Maybe a better pick for a team already making a super bowl run. Same with LB, if we somehow magically end up with Styles then all day. But after Reese, Styles, and CJ Allen is there a day one starter? I like Golday in the second but think if you get him you still need a seasoned starter since we need multiple LBs that lets Golday ease in slowly. Maybe you take Anthony Hill Jr. there in the first. Great physical profile and just take your lumps as he learns beside a vet. -
So they have us 3rd in the division. Realists.

Stewart is a bitch. That's all I took from watching the video.

Max Crosby says he won't play for Vegas ever again...

Bear Hands replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It depends but he’s an appealing guy for our needs and one of only a few pass rushers with 3 down skills in this draft. -
Panthers v. Chargers it is. Breaks my 29ish year streak of predicting Jags v Panthers.

I can deal with it for the right cost, it would need to be a handful of slots. 2-3 slots and that’s from where we are now. Or lower. Cost wise trading from 33-32 wasn’t that bad. Going up to take Brooks wasn’t that bad. Cost wise. Not talking about the players involved just cost of doing the deal. You have to be right, whatever the cost or it is a fail. -

McCarthy should be interested. -
My two rules, that really piss me off if broken are trading future 1st round picks, and hiring a college coach with no NFL track record. I mean, I would be comfortable skipping the ones with a good NFL track record but a couple have done well, so… And that is what Tepper did that cost us many seasons.

Kansas made me sweat it out, but got the job done. Cha-ching.
