  2. Who were we going to trade up with? The Dolphins wanted Proctor, the Rams were vehement on taking Ty Simpson, the Ravens wanted Ioane, and the Bucs werent trading with us except for maybe a kings ransom. Even if we wanted to move, we had no partner. Moot point.
  3. Devin Lloyd is a stud lb but who is next to him? Prince and Nic should improve. Lee was super value but i am not counting this fourth round chicken yet. I would expect some improvement; hope to eat my words w/ a top ten D.

I mean I agree about diminished Cam probably still being viable. Even though it gave a preview of how teams would defend the pass against a limited QB. There was an issue with the upcoming contract he was due to get and his expectations vs the new reality of his physical status - that people tend to overlook when looking back on it It had an effect on things I believe But I do have to ask… what about Tepper’s second major move? fuging clueless I mean I would take even an injured Cam over Bryce all day long.
  5. No. His small hands, short height, very short arms (30 7/8), and killing his passenger while reckless driving at 4:00 am (although maybe that doesn't matter anymore-see James Pearce) are too risky to trade up for someone in a position you used #51 and #71 in last years draft and spent 120M on a FA for only to leave your oline as a big problem. Also, trading up would have cost us an additional 4 and a 5. Bucs had one fall to them but so did we.
  6. You honestly think Tampa would have traded down with a division rival so their rival could land a “generational player” at a massive position of need for TB? bruh
  7. Ya'll better quit throwing shots at Zod. He'll come in here and ban everybody. I had a friend @prosource who was banned in 2015 because he said some very minor things about Zod being an ass to the posters on the main forum after starting the All-Pro one. He said he felt like another level is cool, but don't punch down on people that don't want All-Pro. (He did say that it wasn't going to last long anyways.) I distinctly remember him calling and being like "dude, I got banned, my profile says I don't have access to the Huddle!") I feel like once Tepper came in and cut off all unofficial access to the team, Zod was going to be around less. The All-Pro board had really good photos, even in game stuff, and I remember seeing him behind a little fenced in area at Wofford for non team sanctioned press/photographers after Tepper bought the team. I knew then his ego wouldn't allow him to continue with past fervency and effort with that reduction in access. Dude was literally in the locker room when JR was owner. I came over in 2011 immediately after finding out this place existed. I was super involved with the Charlotte forum, and fell off after its demise. I will never forget arguing Pep over Ryan Sims on that forum! Who is Ryan Sims some of you may ask? My answer is exactly!
  8. And not see him running free. Because has been free a lot more than he gets credit for. Now what XL does with that when he does see the ball, is on him.
  9. He fell to 15. We picked at 19. It became doable and I think we'll regret sitting on our hands.
  10. We were in no position to mortgage our near term future to block a team from a player that high in the draft order. This is like, worrying about the things you can’t control.
  11. If only it works out that way. No way of knowing how it will be once we hit the field. Still, it's nice to even be mentioned in the national press for something positive.
  12. And two of them clearly have us beat at QB.
  13. Yeah it will truly be such a shame and a waste to build a great roster only to leave the likes of Bryce Young behind the wheel. Like I said before it will amount to putting fancy wheels ion a Vega. Or a go kart. Or to tailor this to Tepper, ketchup on a great steak.
  14. Today
  15. Anything about either of the Superbowl appearances. There are no guarantees the team ever gets back to that game. The Jets won SB3, and have never returned. The Bills lost 4 in a row and have never been back. The Vikings have lost 4 and not made it back. Marino lost in his only Superbowl, but the prevailing opinion was he would get another shot. Never happened.
  16. Grass field and ditch the silver. Also the Keep Pounding drum/chant should be a regular thing throughout the game
  17. This is what I notice, Bryce seems to throw the ball late to XL for whatever reason.
  18. Other than the shoulder injury? Hiring Rhule. Cam had earned the benefit of doubt and we should have stuck with him for at least one more contract. Would have been better than QB carousel that followed and we probably would have had Greg for a bit longer if not Luke too. A better coach (Belichick, for example) would have recognized that a former MVP was worth rolling the dice on over journeymen but Big Brain Rhule tried to impress the boss by saving money. And even worse; he got a mulligan with Cam’s return but was too invested in being proven right to take advantage of it. Rhule turned this franchise into a joke. I don’t actually think Tepper is all that bad, just his first major move was a critical error that set the team way back and we’ve been in recovery ever since.
  19. Yeah a lot of ‘progress’ isn’t really better at all but sometimes it actually does improve things. The main advantage of living in a metro area left today, sports fan wise, is you can actually go to the games in person if you want.
  20. Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
  21. Samesies I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary. I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY. Way too many limitations to deal with. I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired. Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
  22. This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle. A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
  23. As long as Morgan is the GM, Young will be the QB. Young is 100% Morgan's guy. The contract extension is pretty much guaranteed unless Young suffers a career ending injury this season.
  24. People really need to stop placing Dan Morgan on some kind of infallible pedestal. He is absolutely in lockstop with Tepper regarding Bryce and has been all along. As far as the team being okay with 185 passing yards per game. We better have a proven monster RB in our backfield then. Presently that guy is not on the roster. Chuba has one outlier season so far and the other guys have proven nothing. Not what you would call a great recipe. The only thing we can hope at this juncture is that the highest paid OL in the league for the second year in a row elevates their play from last season and opens up some massive holes even our RB's can get through. But it still doesn't resolve the issue of predictability. With no viable passing game it is much easier to shut down any run game. No defenses are scared of Bryce's arm. It is what it is.
