  2. I'm well versed in the minutiea of the Canes radio broadcast system... lol I've been back in WNC for about 15 years now. And, until very recently, we would only get Predators games on the RSNs out here. So, radio was the only option for me to keep up with the team. These were the dark years, too. Maybe, once a year, you'd get to see us get smashed on national TV by some original 6 powerhouse. If you were really lucky, Jeff Skinner would bless you with one of his absolutely stunning pirouette passes to nowhere, before Wardo toppled over off his head, giving up a goal on his 70th shot faced that night for an inspiring 1-0 loss. But, that story sounds a whole lot cooler when Chuck Kaiton is telling it to you in real-time with the raspy drawl of a calving heifer! Before TuneIn or the Canes apps even existed, I used to have to find the one spot out in the back yard, where the hills and trees parted just right, that I could pickup 730(?)AM The Buzz all the way out in Catawba county. I'd sit in the shadow of the mighty Appalachians, staring out at the stars and getting high with stray cats, while being serenaded by the worst hockey you've never seen played in your life. That all, finally, started to change around the time TD bought the team. Part of that is due to the new NHL TV contracts and the constant reorganization of the RSNs themselves. Part, was me breaking up with that feral cat and moving to LKN to escape all the painful memories. The march of progress, and all that... I will say though, as much as I've criticized Dundon and as much as I loathe the existence of billionaires on principle, he has done an exceptional job of improving the fan experience, on the whole. Working with the league to expand the coverage map and bringing in outdoor games and all-star weeks has been huge. But, improving the quality on the ice (and of the ice) for all levels of hockey across the state has been even bigger! I forgot where I was going with all this, but... I'll still never forgive him for retiring Chuck K, though! HEY, HEY, WHADDYA SAY!!!!
  3. • Passing: 360/560 (64.3%), 3,900 yards, 26 TDs, 8 INTs • Rushing: 320 yards, 5 TDs • Passer Rating: 94.5 • Team Record: 8-9
  4. Presidents cup curse is alive and well. They did win it, right?
  5. Always followed them, always loved them, expectations though have waned
  6. Today
  7. He goes viral on tik tok about every 6 months when new people find out how he talks lol
  8. If you’re that optimistic about XL, you should be glowing over TMac.
  9. Didn’t realize that. Not in the triangle area but good to have the option to listen. The announcers on national tv are mostly bad.
  10. They’re on the radio all regular season too.
  11. Grades are either C or A depending on whether they like the Tmac pick. Not everyone believes tmac is anything other than a possession reciever. I guess we will find out
  12. No. This guy did. Did you see his mock draft? https://www.nfl.com/news/gennaro-filice-2025-nfl-mock-draft-2-0-rb-ashton-jeanty-goes-top-5-cowboys-jump-for-jalon-walker This man had Shedeur Sanders going 9th overall and us trading down to pick 12 to draft cornerback Jahdae Barron.
  13. Fug them, they put Cleveland at 6 when they took, DT, Off ball LB, and RB, in that order plus 2 QBs and 2 RBs boy what a haul.... They rated us low because they didnt want us to have a WR.
  14. Lmao... The SBNation article is still live, too!
  15. 99.9 The Fan in Raleigh will have Mike, Tripp and the gang throughout the playoffs. If you are not in the triangle broadcast area, you can listen through the Canes website or the TuneIn app. The ads on TuneIn can be annoying, but I've found it much easier to sync up with the TV broadcast than through the Canes site.
  16. That's why when you have the chance to draft a C who could possibly hold down the position for the next decade in the second round you take that prospect and run. Instead we let him go to Pittsburgh.
  17. I feel like it's impossible not to like and root for this guy. Seems like a fantastic teammate to have around too. Hopefully he and TMac will be having a good time motivating one another to up their respective game.
  18. The NFL didn't force him to go do it, so while he partnered with the league on it, yes, he was there on his own accord. And again, I'm not saying it's a problem for him to be there, but in retrospect, if he doesn't show improvement this year, things like this would be a bad look to do this while the rest of the team is in Charlotte the past few days. I have no problem with players building their own brand off the field, but given how visible he's been this offseason doing random/weird stuff, he better back it up with improved play, that's all.
  19. NFL dot com gave us the 25th best draft class. Full list: https://www.nfl.com/news/2025-nfl-draft-ranking-all-32-rookie-classes-plus-overall-grades-favorite-picks-and-day-3-sleepers
  20. Speaking of horse racing, if you don't realize how dominant Secretariat was, go back and watch his Belmont Stakes. Only four other horses even bothered to show. He won by like a quarter of a mile. He still holds the record for the fastest Kentucky Derby. He won by two and a half lengths which doesn't sound all that impressive until you realize that the the second place horse is still the second fastest Derby time ever and only other horse to finish in under two minutes. Every horse in this year's Derby was a direct descendent of Secretariat. His Kentucky Derby time would've translated to winning by about 15 horse lengths yesterday.
  21. I miss Ryan Kalil. (and I know I'm not alone)
  22. This was an NFL appearance, not Xavier at the Derby on his own accord
