  1. Past hour
  2. Good thing we put zero effort into improving the qb room the last two years
  3. Whether you accept it or not it is what it is. There is not a single thing you or I can do to change who starts for the Carolina Panthers. So why get so upset and lament about who the qb is? I just watch the game and hope by some miracle they win.
  4. I know it sounds crazy but low key I think the Panthers need to go see if they can get the Dolphins to dump Tua and eat his salary. Otherwise Sam Howell is the only other reasonable trade target.
  5. Because there's no reason to completely discard the other 10 games we have left. Even if we aren't winning anything, we can build on something for next year. We won't be able to do that with Hendon Hooker after Dalton gets KO'd in 1-2 weeks.
  6. I think it's more about being able to fairly evaluate what we have. I'm sold on T-Mac. XL looked better than he ever has before yesterday which is promising. Coker is coming back and could round out a decent starting WR corps. It's not about winning games for me as much as it is giving Canales' offense it's best opportunity to shine and being able to better evaluate our young receivers. It's just tough to really see what we might or might not have when we're having to do this dink and dunk bullshit because we have a QB who can't effectively throw the ball down the field consistently.
  7. Well first things first, the 5th year option isn't something that "may" get decided this offseason, it WILL get decided this offseason because it has to, this is when they have to pick it up or not. It's how you get into a Daniel Jones situation, where you decline the option, then he stumbles into a decent season so you extend him, just for him to revert back to his old form right away. Bryce getting another year is far less certain than you seem to think, namely because of that 5th year option decision this offseason. We traded the farm for the pick and then took Bryce #1 overall. If you don't pick up the option, it's a hard sell for the players and fan base to bring him back as the starter next year. And because of the trade and taking him #1 overall, it's equally as hard to bring in a true competition for him in camp, because if he loses, you can't keep your #1 overall pick around as a backup. The problem is this injury now gives them the cover to make some dumb decisions
  8. I mean if Canales is dumb enough to trot Dalton out there and make him throw 40 times when he's got Rico running like a madman and Chuba to spell him, we're cooked.
  9. All true. Adding a proven failure at qb only makes it worse. We already have a backup at the position so why pay to make it worse? Just draft another failure in the offseason.
  10. The only thing is you are banking on Brooks to be 100% healthy. God forbid Rico gets injured than we are completely out of quality RB. I am not sold one Etienne.
  11. Well DJ Moore had a parade of mediocre to bad QB's after Cam's arm died. Did his budding career suddenly go to poo? I think you are fairly dramatically overrating the idea that development for a WR hinges on "certain types of throws." That's really a very minimal thing versus the bigger issue(IMO) of just having resources that are largely being squandered to the detriment of your overall offense. Bryce's lack of success pushing the ball deep absolutely creates that. But those ills aren't going to be solved by just bringing in a guy that consistently puts you in huge holes with crazy TO's. Getting a functionally BETTER QB will solve almost all the issues with the passing game. Unfortunately, that's just gonna be a tough ask during the season. That's really an offseason fix and we just didn't choose to do that this past offseason. We are now reaping that.
  12. How much of it is due to Bryce forcing you into a very conservative offensive gameplan though? Their TD:INT ratios are virtually identical. If you have Bryce slinging it around like Jameis you probably end up with similar turnover numbers.
  13. LOL the reason the Panthers are winning right now is not because of the Qb it's called RB & some of u guys have become so accustomed to mediocre QB play that it is almost comical.here u have a Qb that averages less than 185 passing yards per game & that somehow makes the Panthers a better team or maybe u are saying that without his on the field game managing skills & conservative playy calling the Panthers are not as good ?Who knows either or it makes no sense
  14. He's a backup because he constantly loses games for his teams with his turnovers. I don't want him for what he can do and a QB, I want him because of what he can do for our WRs and TEs. Bryce started 12 games last year and had 2,400 yards passing with 15 TDs. Jameis started 7 games last year and had 2,120 yards passing with 13 TDs. Bryce has started 7 games this year and has 1,288 yards passing with 11 TDs. If you don't see what Jameis, even with all his faults, can bring to this team because of his very live arm, then you're fooling yourself or just don't want to see it.
  15. Exactly. This team cannot win a shootout with the Bills. Josh will get his on our defense. We just have to limit his time on the field. That's going to rely on our run game. If Andy throws multiple picks we do not have a chance.
  16. Bro, he's getting another year whether you like it or not. It will be the '26 offseason before any long term decision is made on Bryce. The only thing that may get decided this offseason is concerning his 5th year option.
  17. Testaverde had more arm left as a panther than Bryce does now.
  18. We're mediocre because of the cast around the QB. Not because of the QB. That's why.
  19. Oh naw I’m thinking more low level, Tua is def not worth trading for, unfortunately the guys that fit the bill are already playing games for the retrospective teams, Jacoby brisset, Carson wentz, Mac jones etc reality is the FO most likely isn’t looking at options that would potentially usurp young’s job, otherwise there would be more options
  20. I wouldn't hate having Winston. He's basically the modern day Vinny Testeverde but he's still got a live arm.
  21. Bryce is definitely very TO prone but Winston is pretty wild. 1.62 TO's/GM in his NFL career to Bryce's 1.19. I am just saying, it can actually get worse. Winston is that worse. I agree, however, the offseason is the time to deal with this situation.
  22. I mean, odds are we're going to lose this game regardless.
  23. So is Bryce. Jameis just has a much different skill set that could potentially allow us to see more of the playbook and get a better idea of what we might potentially have on offense.
  24. And Bryce - when he has multiple turnovers in the 1st Q and we abandon the run (see AZ, NE games)
