  1. Past hour
  2. Another new video. I'm the scriptwriter behind this one. Complex case that unfolded quickly.
  3. Yep. No thanks unless he’s crazy cheap. Based on the last 4 years, even if you make the crazy assumption that they were both healthy on the exact same weeks, they could have only played together 29 out of 68 games. Amazingly enough, Jaire is more fragile now. Again, only way I’d want him is if he wants to give the team a home town discount for 1-2 years to prove he can stay healthy and get another deal like Gilmore.
  4. I mean the #33 overall pick signed for what, 4 years $12M? Average $3M a year? That's barely over 1% of the salary cap. The Panthers routinely extend TEs who should be desperately competing for a roster spot more than that. Much ado about nothing.
  5. At the most, a prove it contract would be advisable. Oft injured DBs often get contact shy and that can be an issue, actually leading to more injuries. Personally, I was impressed by how Horn came back last season and wasn't just great in coverage but became much, much more aggressive in tackling and run defense. He apparently learned that it is better to be the hammer than the nail.
  6. We SHOULD be better overall than last year. I would say this is still, on paper, firmly a bottom 5 roster in the NFL. I definitely hope that improves over the course of the season.
  7. I agree with this. ASJ would be another good option.
  8. dude already bought a house. getting jersey fitted as we speak.
  9. TBH I'd rather have a younger and cheaper Samuel Jr but wouldn't be mad at it
  10. It's really going to depend on what he wants and depend on where he is physically. Is he looking to sign for the most money he can get? Is he looking for a prove it type deal in a good situation where he can rehab is value then sign another mega deal? Is he looking to ring chase with a contender? A lot of variables at work here on whether or not we would even be looked at as a possible option for him from his perspective.
  11. One year incentive heavy deal to not impact the future, to come home and try to cash in next year, why not? Don't offer anything crazy, but at least throw in an offer. He's Horn insurance, Horn is Jaire insurance, if they're both on the field we're thrilled. If the season isn't going well, trade him to a contender mid-year and get a draft pick for our troubles.
  12. I was going to post something very similar, BUT I expect our front 7 on D to make a jump similar to the one our o-line made last year. 1. Brown is back after missing all of last year. In 2023 he was 1 of the best at his position. 2. Wharton and BB3 are solid players who are NFL caliber starters. 3. Jones is very good pick up; 26 yo and coming off a 7 sack season. Add to that we spent 2 high draft picks on Scourton & Umanmielen. Unproven in the NFL, but the our staff felt good enough about them to cut Clowney who was our best OLB last year (sadly).
  13. Bravo! I certainly don't know how guys think that we're going to "stink" this year. I'm not saying that we won't, but the DBs were ranked in the low 20s as a unit (according to Chat), so I don't easily see us getting any worse; we should be better. The D-line improvement should help the backfield out a lot, and Jackson and Horn know what they're doing. The older vets we acquired shouldn't take too long to make their presence felt, and we have a couple of promising youngsters in Smith-Wade and Ransom. How do we not make at least a slight to modest improvement from last year?
  14. Morgan and company will definitely be in on this, not sure if we actually sign him but we will likely see reports come out with us showing interest.
  15. He grew up in Charlotte. Not sure if that'd be a thing or not - but worth noting.
  16. Today
  17. We already have the role of "elite big money CB who rarely sees the field" covered.
  18. All the Florida fans I know thought he was terrible. When he went 4th, it was pretty shocking. When healthy he’s a solid fantasy QB, not an NFL one. Some might point to his starting record as 8-7, but if you dig in a little bit it’s almost comical: When Richardson has 12 or less passes (i.e. he got hurt in game): Colts 4-0 (2 of 4 wins were playoff teams) When Richardson plays the game (19 to 38 passes): Colts 4-7 (0 of 4 wins were playoff teams)
  19. I definitely wouldn’t want to pay him long-term money with his inability to get on the field. I’m not sure if we’re good enough to start picking up vets on prove-it deals where they have all the upside, but I wouldn’t hate seeing what Evero’s defense looks like with some real players on it. Feels like we’re not going to get that answer again this year given how young the main edge rushers are and how thin we are at corner.
  20. If we are going to make a move at CB it will probably be around the time teams are cutting down to 53. That's when we will likely sign someone. After all, it wasn't until the end of August when we acquired Mike Jackson last year. I'd be on the lookout for a similar move especially if there's an injury.
  21. Fully guaranteed contracts for rooks outside of the top 10 or so is ridiculous and even that is reaching.
  22. I mean I almost feel like we have to at least make an offer. Unless he's asking insane money it's worth a shot. Granted, we'd have the most fragile pair of Pro Bowl corners of all time, but they'd be sick when healthy.
  23. Maybe an answer to our CB problems? Or too risky with injury history? https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/packers-to-reportedly-release-two-time-pro-bowl-cornerback-jaire-alexander-121246164.html
