  2. Yeah I bet if you did a deep dive I lot of the times he doesn't let it rip is when XL is on the field
  3. His write up of the team is accurate in the vacuum of Saturday's game. It's not even close to accurate in the context of watching this team all season. If the Falcons hire an offensive coach or strong OC, keep Kirk Cousins the starter, and stay healthy, they will win this division by at least 3 games next year.
  4. Coker Moore or Tremayne. Mays. Brady and Corbett or at least one or the other. Rozeboom Simmons and Jansen. Should be able to go after a top defensive free agent.
  5. NAS

    Sonny Styles

Former safety just like Thomas Davis
  6. I agree with you, but roster development has to be the hardest thing in pro sports. Its never cut and dry, and even without Ickey getting hurt we would still be in this situation. You dont draft out of necessity, you have to take the best players avaliable and at 19 it looks like there will not be any top defensive players (maybe a CB will fall to us) avaliable. Plus Moton has 1 year left probably, then what? And what if Ickey never comes back to be the same guy? And it wasnt like he was a steel wall over at LT anyways to begin with, but he was good. Just food for thought... Plus just to play devils advocate, our defense statistically was better than our offense this year. Some would even say our defense was the reason we made the playoffs
  7. I saw that, but I also saw that PFF had Scourton listed with 8 sacks which just seems wrong lol or at least everywhere else I saw had him at 5 sacks. They also had him with wayyyy more pressures than I saw elsewhere so I dunno it just seems sus.
  8. A three year extension only to cut him a year afterwards. But guess what? He got an extension with the Chargers earlier this year too.
  9. I’m 70/30 on it leaning towards that as well. The 30% is the times I’ve seen him have chances down the field and he just checks down. Could also be confidence in the receivers he had in those scenarios as well.
  10. Bryce couldn’t beat the patriots when they didn’t even have a defensive coordinator. Terrell Williams had to step away from the team for cancer treatment that week. bryce on a worse team without an offense built around his limitations isn’t winning anything like he can’t run a passing offense based on play action under center, he’s certainly not going to succeed with monken at OC. also Herbie is expected to actually make reads and progressions while Bryce just does what the voice in his ear tells him.
  11. Most Panthers fans seem to be in agreement that we could and should upgrade Evero. But I do think there is an aspect that differentiates Princely from Scourton beyond snap counts. Princely got humbled to a degree in his rookie season. Hopefully he takes that to heart appropriately and uses it constructively.
  12. Guys can you give cliff notes for the people who don’t want to listen to two grown men yelling at each other.
  13. Why does it seem Evero has more pull than Canales? Tepper lining up his next interim HC to possibly hire as HC (Wilks 2.0)
  14. Nijman is actually one of the better free agent left tackles available in free agency and he will get a chance to start next year. He will get a raise and likely be re-signed. Christensen backs him up and they should sign another veteran tackle and/or draft a 2nd or 3rd round tackle as well. Zavala and Corbett need to go so they should also draft a guard. I’ve suggested they should trade down in the first round to accumulate more picks for depth they are going to need a lot of going forward.
  15. Princely overall PFF was 47 compared to Scourton’s 68. Not everything shows up in the stats.
  16. If you account for the discrepancy in snap counts, then Princely and Scourton actually had pretty similar production. Scourton: 717 snaps (68%) 47 tackles (7 TFL) 5 sacks 15 pressures 1 FF Princely: 222 snaps (22%) 24 tackles (2 TFL) 1.5 sacks 5 pressures 1 FF, 1 FR I think Scourton was simply given more opportunities to flash. Then it goes to a more abstract argument of why Princely was not given more playing time. But then we'd be blindly giving credence to the same guy who not only drafted DJ Johnson, but was happy to waste a roster spot and snaps on the guy for 2 seasons and some change.
  17. Was gonna say the same. They’ll probably sign a veteran tackle near the end of their career as well as signing Nijman and Christensen back, and maybe drafting a 2nd or 3rd round tackle as well. They might benefit from trading down in the first because they are going to have a lot of depth needs.
  18. Seems like since Raheem was a defensive guy and the Atlanta defense obviously improved that the team was an offensive coordinator away from being far more competitive. Falcons gonna Falcon.
  19. Looking at Scourton Vs Princely stats across the season (and I just pulled these off PFF): Scourton was on the field for 3x as many snaps (717 vs 222) but didn't out perform him by that same volume. If you extrapolate it out then Princely would have had more tackles, assists, forced fumbles, stops and hits across the same volume. Appreciate it's not as simple as that, but it's encouraging. If he can keep his mouth shut long enough to stay on the team, and continues to develop, that is.
  20. agree to disagree you are entitled to that opinion even though I find the argument completely bizarre based on data. I could type out a long paragraph discussing those areas but what’s the point. I posted a screenshot that showed Bryce in a similar post snap situation with a free rusher in his face which resulted in a TD - that’s what happened on the play so I posted it.

  22. I've already addressed this notion in a previous reply. You are basing your assertion outside reality if you think Bryce would have not only been more successful but defeated the Patriots in place of Herbert. Bryce got blown off the field by that Patriots team with the highest paid OL in the league. We've seen Bryce with an OL that gave up 65 sacks and it resulted in the #1 pick. And that is not a defense of Herbert or arguing he is a great QB in any way. He has physical talent but he has been similar to Darnold early in his career in terms of his very up and down perfomances. However that does not change the fact that they have significantly less invested in the OL than the Panthers.
  23. I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean. Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying. Bryce is the guy next year. OC, DC, everything stays the same. QB room largely the same. Nothing would really matter there. They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes. Everyone out the door together. Bryce is a bridge tier QB. I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.
  24. I think the D performed well over the season considering it was put together with Scotch tape.
  25. Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.
  26. I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
