I know a lot of people think the Oregon QB is going back to school but I think that would be insane. Him and Mendoza look like the only guys who should go in the 1st this year. This has got to be the most overhyped preseason QB class of all time.

Ty Simpson is ass. Anyone considering spending a 1st round pick on this guy has lost their damn mind.
-
Someone tell me again how Simpson is a first round pick.

Derrick Brown appreciation thread.
Gapanthersfan replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
VERY few players completely change the complexion of the game. Brown is now at that level. How do you scheme around a cheat code DT who collapses the center even when double teamed and bats passes on the regular? How do you block him and not draw a holding call? One on one and he rag dolls linemen. Most elite edge guys can be somewhat schemed around to a certain degree, but what the hell do you do against someone as physically dominating as Brown who lines up just a few feet from the football on every snap? His presence alone has been good for at least 2 extra wins this season. He is the most physically dominating defensive player this team has seen since 2003 (sorry Star and Hardy), and he is STILL yet to reach his ceiling. Now if Dan and Co can draft a DROY edge and shore up the LBs… -
They'll probably still go with a close loss but they better wakeup. If they get blown out they'll be in trouble.
-
Derek Carr posted on the huddle when David was with the Panthers. He was just a teenager then. I wish the David Carr experiment would have worked.
-
If Bama loses, and gets into the CFP with 3 losses ... oooooof.

This game should be all Georgia, but..it probably won't play out that way.

Might be the year to invest a 2nd or 3rd in one. But I haven’t investigated what might be there. I’d say we need to keep that OL pipeline flowing though we don’t need to keep spending this big on guards.
-
Where is this elite defense? It goes like it went early every year because preseason and time in pads is so inadequate for training guys in these situations, when there is a lot of turnover and you have some young guys. They have played pretty well since Buffalo overall, and they are definitely not elite. DB is elite. Horn can be. Is at times. There isn’t that much past those guys. I am not trying to wave the flag for him, but he has gotten scraps to work with. Whoever was DC I’d feel the same about as far as what he has had to work with. That DJ Johnson deal was a bad look for him.

Nice hospital ball, Ty.

This is silly. Not worth arguing.

Canales was basically forced to act. Thielen and Johnson were pitching public fits. Who knows what was happening in the locker room when that is happening in full view. It really does appear that they sheltered him from competition.
-
TT is fuggin nasty especially on defense. Their offense is good not great but they are definitely legit
-
Dukes schedule was very light on completion and they were beat by every decent team they played. ACC needs to fix the scheduling
-
Purdue got absolutely rolled at home. Wow

Look at the schools playing in the big12. Acc is better They played mostly lower tier competition outside of conference. The only ranked win I can find is iowa st vs iowa 16-13
-
BYU got fraud checked pretty hard. Didn't feel like TT played particularly well and they still completely dominated. That BYU QB is basically bad Carson Beck when he has to throw the ball more than five yards. Their entire offense seems to rely around him running and throwing passing around the LOS. That's a tough row to hoe against good competition.

Like I said, yup. Corbett is a good player but it's that consistency thing... oft injured at that spot doesn't help. He'd make a heck of a back-up and swing guard, but not at the current salary. Mayes either has the chops now or he is developing into it. We need to get him to the regular starting spot before he gets to that free agent period and suddenly becomes to expensive to throw bucks at without knowing his true potential. But yeah, Centers are way, way undervalued. And I understand it. Good teams keep their centers under contract for a decade, they rarely end up on the free agency market and get little fanfare when they do. It's just not sexy I guess. But like a MLB or a punter, if you don't have a good one, you're fugged either now or soon.
