  2. The difference is about how much player input is allowed and encouraged in the decision making process. Top down teams tend to dictate to players how everything is handled. Disagreements are handled by the coach and players are expected to do what they are told regardless of what they think or feel. Players are perceived as commodities to be used until we find better. In player led teams player input is encouraged and valued. Players and especially leaders are expected to settle their own disagreements and be accountable to the team but mostly to each other. Players are family to be appreciated and supported in their growth. Is the reality of football the same in both? Yeah there are limited positions, football is a business and winning is the bottom line. Coaches get final say and run the program because that is their job. But in player led teams they feel valued, appreciated, part of a larger whole. Most people who have worked at multiple jobs know exactly what I am talking about. When players try to run the show and don't value coach input that isn't a player led team, that is a circus which we surely are familiar with in our past.
  3. For our pics and trades tonight and tmrw. Remember, Aho was a 2nd rounder and Slavin was a 4th rounder.
  4. Today
  5. Seems to be the consensus from the talking heads. I really wish we had double dipped at center in the 2nd round. Sion will never play in the league.
  6. Parking Panda is now Spot Hero There's also ParkWhiz There's a big lot on W Morehead I walk past that could accommodate a tailgating trailer, but my needs are small so I never use it, plus I like to park a bit further out so I didn't get stuck in egress traffic
  7. Not sure why the hand-wringing on this draft. I thought it was extremely solid overall…
  8. It’s the second round and we get a really tough defensive guard and a very solid big with rim protection ability. This was a good draft IMO.
  9. Duke could probably beat the Hornets. Enough haterade!
  10. I brought it up elsewhere, but even the year we took SGA, which was the player I wanted that year (fwiw, I hated the Bridges pick), we took SGA then traded him for Bridges, who was taken a pick after ours. Like why tf should anyone do that? If we wanted Bridges, we could’ve just taken him without pick. And all we netted was a 2nd round pick and a solid role player who beats women in his spare time. But outside of player for player, all we gained was a 2nd rounder. And don’t feel like going back to look, but look how many picks we traded over the years for nothing or cash considerations. Remember when we drafted Duren and then traded him for literally fuging nothing? These trades are too many to count.
  11. Just stop drafting so many Duke players, this poo is getting old.
  12. So far jokes aside I like the draft for us. I can understand being apprehensive but the hand wringing considering how comically bad our locker room has been just doesn't line up. Would you rather be drafting more guys like James Bouknight?
  13. Starting at Center for your Charlottes Hornets…
  14. Missed their chance. Could hace easily drafted 2 white centers back to back and had an all white draft
  15. Was hoping to double down with the 2 centers bur kalkbrenner was the guy I wanted more so Im good with it.
  16. Charlotte…got anymore white dudes to draft lol
  17. Enough with the dookies damn lol…shades of Felton/May
  18. Another Duke player!?? Geez!! See if Coach K wants a job too!! Lol
  19. As someone who would have honestly preferred Bailey I think he is getting overhyped by people who are I'm just being honest here-acting like complete Stans. I've seen people acting like they're this kids momma going hard for him on social media. He made the choice to opt for the predraft path that he took and that hurt his stock. Regardless Kon and Ace will be connected for a bit but I can't fault the Hornets for not electing to add another possible malcontent to the locker room. This culture has to change. Whether this actually works is the question. But I'm glad we are trying. We'll see.
  20. As unathletic as he is compared to other NBA players, Luka is still a superior athlete to Knueppel and has way better length for his size and still struggles defensively. We’ve also seen fat James Harden put up video game numbers offensively but couldn’t play defense. I’m sure Knueppel will at least try harder on D than those 2, so there is that at least.
  21. As one of the biggest Miller over Scoot stans at that time, this is clearly different because everything is all about me and what I want. But in all seriousness, I think most of the argument against Miller at that time was about off the court stuff but on the court he was clearly the better player. So if I had to compare, I would say this feels more like if we had drafted not Scoot instead of Miller, but a player ranked more around 6th on big boards instead of either. Bailey was pretty much universally a top 3 player in this draft and Knueppel was not.
