BREAKING NEWS: Trevin Wallace out for the year
Swaggasaurus replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nic is a player for us at strong side end or edge or whatever you want to call it. He’s good at handling blocks and setting the edge, probably best at play recognition right now. He’s got to work on his body and his get off in the offseason to have a rush threat tho. Need a pass rush specialist at that other edge spot for sure. -
Surprise! Wait… Surprise Again! Kon Looks Really Good!

My stomach turned when he went down. Such a cursed franchise. -

ILB's are bad but the EDGE guys are underwhelming too. Upgrades across the board are needed. If Scourton or Umanmielen pan out, fantastic, but it's unwise to assume they will. -
cranky started following Maxx Crosby is not happy
-
Apparently the Raiders are in tank mode and have informed Crosby he will not be playing for the remainder of the season and he is NOT happy. "Via Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, the Raiders told Crosby they plan to shut him down for the final two games of a lost season that is creeping toward enough losses to secure the top spot in every round of the 2026 draft. Per Glazer, Crosby “vehemently disagreed” with the proposal — and has “left the building.” And apparently his contract is set up to easily be traded. "Maxx Crosby contract is extremely tradable. Only $5M dead on the Raiders side. Inheriting team has $30M guaranteed in 2026, which is no problem. The rest of the contract is just $28M team options." Now I know it is a long shot BUT, if he were to request a trade, would he be worth pursuing?

Good eye. LB play has been subpar.

Scourton and Umanmielen? Oh, surely you're talking about MLBs. -
"Being stronger at the point of attack." I would bet that will be a point of emphasis over the summer.

BREAKING NEWS: Trevin Wallace out for the year
MHS831 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would not be surprised to see us add a free agent LB and then draft one. If we bring Rozeboom back, we would have solid depth. -
We definitely have a QB problem in the league. They're not being developed anymore. Brady and a few others have alluded to this. They come from all these 1-2 read offenses. Potentially receivers are the same coming up with 1/3 of a route tree. No idea when to sit in the zone. I think one thing that could help some is bringing the 2 ft in bounds rule to college.

Yup. We all seem to be on the same page there. I would add WR to the list, but your point is solid. -

I am just starting to mock, so do not mock me. The LBs you mention here are OLBs, if I am not mistaken. Styles is a converted SS and Perkins is small. I am just starting to research the ILBs we might need, and one sleeper that I am watching is Jake Golday (Cincinnati). Anthony Hill in the second round is my safe pick. Sonny Styles is a beast of an athlete. I can see any team that passes on him regretting it. -
Are the Panthers a "Trap Game" for the Hawks?
MrBubba replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not a "trap" game but after the game against Rams, travel and Christmas week they could get distracted. But sure they are aware Panthers beating Rams is giving them the number one seed shot. -

MHS831 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I like some of the ILBs in this draft. I want a top 30 edge and 2 LBs. I think we will sign one in free agency. TBH, Rozeboom and Wallace should be depth. -
Was traveling and drinking Merry late Christmas huddle!

INB4 the inevitable Geno Smith/Baker Mayfield/Sam Darnold nonsense.

Surprise! Wait… Surprise Again! Kon Looks Really Good!
carpanfan96 replied to TylerDurden's topic in Charlotte Hornets
Kon out the rest of the night with an ankle injury, looked like he might be out a few weeks -
Well, there are a pretty big chunk of big framed WR's that aren't speedsters that are also excellent route runners. Hopkins, Fitz etc. He just needs to work on his execution and catching. Being stronger at the point of attack. If he improves even 10-20% he will be in the discussion for best we have ever had. It's up to him how good he wants to be.
-
Every time I see him on any media I immediately cringe. He should not be considered any kind of expert at anything except maybe infidelity
-
I think Mike Evans is a good comparison production wise. Also Bryce is particularly good with touch throws which might help his #s as well. Steve Smith is a top 10 WR all time. That won’t be eclipsed for a long time. DJ Moore is a great #1 WR as well but Steve Smith never got the chance to play with a QB that can extend plays in his prime. He also was historically under targeted by the running offense he played in.
-
I don't think this is his peak. For one, he's not always going to exist in a passing offense happy to just hit 3k yards. Even that aside, he'll learn routes better, get stronger, and adjust more to NFL speed in a way I think you'll see him improve quite a bit. He doesn't strike me as someone content with a season like this

BREAKING NEWS: Trevin Wallace out for the year
ColumbusCounty replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we came out that draft with Sonny Styles and Harold Perkins Jr, I'd be EXTREMLY content. Perfect year to grab two. On this defense.... hell yes! As for Wallace....he still has some developing to do.. its a reason he was projected everywhere from the 3rd to 5th round. He's an athlete at LB.. he'll get there in time though, I hope. -

ILB, DE and other BPA on days 1 and 2. QB and RB on day 3 and other picks BPA. -
A little shiftier Tee Higgins without the elite contested catch skill.

Serious question, what's his ceiling look like? He doesnt have the top end speed, he still needs to work on snagging catches, I dont think his athleticism is top 1%. He is however football smart, good a route running and can make contested catches at times. Is this his peak? How much more can he improve? Serious questions, not knocking him at all.
