I'd actually be willing to trade XL for JPJ from the Raiders. He was the top center before Frazier we skipped over to take XL. He was in the dog house for some reason under Carroll. They've both been disappointing for the teams that drafted them. Raiders need a WR and we need a C. I think it could be a good move to get new scenery for both.

Other urgent needs aside, seeing Dan bear down on finding us LBs worthy of playing for the Panthers, guys that meet the high expectations he must have for that position on this team, I fuging love it. Edit: he doesn’t buy into the devaluation of that position that I have seen. He said, the other day, that is the guy the DBs are looking at in the huddle, the DL is looking at in the huddle, he wants a leader there. He didn’t use the term QB of the defense, but I will. They have made such a difference to our defense over the years, we just need to find that guy that can be one of the league’s best.

Yeah I get it. I just said guards because we had been weak there and teams go through a lot of them. And I was lazy. I could understand thinking with those new guards maybe you’d be okay being a little less than good at C. And I have just always thought, right or wrong, that they did not want a brand new offense and this overwhelmed kid at QB to have to rely on a rookie at C making the calls and all that. My dad was a 4 year college C so I heard a little about it. Mostly funny stories about what he did wrong more than bragging but I appreciate having a good C and would have been happy with - was it Frazier? Whoever they passed up for Brooks. They are not gonna get it all right decisions every time especially being new, and I think they may be wanting to fix that spot now, let’s hope.

Adam Schefter: Panthers getting trade calls for Andy Dalton

The Bears dont need a backup -
I understand the reasoning but I'd rather get a real tight end. And, I'd rather XL play the position he was drafted to play. Otherwise, replace him with someone who can.

Moton is on record as saying he does not want to play left tackle if my memory serves me correctly.

Yeah and just to respond to this, there is a huge difference between being less imaginative than the best generational type of offensive minds and being incapable. And even the best don’t run the table every year. I don’t think you get even an OC job if you don't understand stuff like you cite here. Having to do it all on the fly with people in your ear and the clock ticking and trying to be concerned about all these things going on in a football game will test a lot of people and mistakes will be made. If he gets out from under all that maybe the things outside of the play calling will improve.

Draft a guard? No. Center. We needed one with Corbett and his injury history and lack of playing the position. Mayes was green. Usually though, you don't have a top tier contract tackle followed up by 2 big guard contracts. That's a lot of dough in 3 roster spots. Even still, after Hunt and Lewis, churning the back end the roster wasn't/isn't a bad thing. UDFA or a late rounder on a multi-positional player. Just one of those places that piling up fodder isn't going to end badly for you, just based on attrition.

God Bless Mike Kaye - he called this disaster from the jump "runs like he has pebbles in his cleats" No way he is as silky as Patterson or deebo

Raiders, Titans, and Saints would actually make some sense in picking up someone like Dalton, for the same reason we got him for Bryce. Teams who don't have a chance at staying competitive if their 1st or 2nd year QB goes down anyways, so have a vet backup who can help their young QBs off the field and expedite their mental growth of being an NFL QB. Now, if I'm those teams, zero chance I'm giving up even the last pick in the draft, or even like a 2028 7th rounder for him, but I do think it would make sense for those teams to look at Dalton when he gets cut. - Yesterday

Don't let the screen door smack you on the ass on the way out Andy -
Could be a good deal if 2025 was a case of him still bouncing back from the achilles rather than his new baseline. Coming back from an achilles tear is always iffy, especially for a man of his size.

This has to be the year--and I think there are some good QBs whose stock price is beaten down in the draft--I am guessing there is one they like on day 3. But this pamper Bryce mentality has to end before he gets a big deal--take off the training wheels and have a Plan B. -
He had an Achilles injury in 2024. Smart player. Good pass protector. had a down year in 2025. Has never played between two guards like Lewis and Hunt--should cost under $8m. At 28, he has 5 years left. I am not against it if we can get him for about $5m per.

Also, I think I have figured out how to make soccer way less boring. All the leagues should move to a points per goal differential per game model. You win by 1, you get one point, you win by two, you get two points, etc etc. After watching how teams who are down significantly in aggregate attack the game and open it up, it's such a better product for the fan / viewer. I think you could get the same sort of play if you had teams, especially towards the end of the season who were chasing points (instead of aggregate goals) trying to run up the score to stay ahead or catch up to other teams in the table. Soccer in generally is brutally painful to watch, although it is the easiest sport to bet. They need to do something to make it more offensively forward. I know it will never happen, but literally every time I watch one of this cross league tournament games on aggregates, it's always 10x as exciting and fast paced as traditional league game.

You maybe on to something. The recent hire of Darrell bevell may have suggested it after his viewing of the season. I do think brad should have a understanding of BY and what to call. I also think huddle, x, plebitt, bragbook panther fans started to ask loudly "What does Brad do?!?!?". I also think Dave is trying to save himself if BY fails....

Best I know he's a ILB that's in the 2-3 range. Leader etc etc all the buzz words about ILB. I did see some early 1st talk, but that has cooled.
