  1. Past hour
  2. It's just Dan Graziano giving his opinion because he believes it to be the most logical option. There's been no official team movement and likely won't until the offseason because there's literally no reason to not wait until then.
  3. South Carolina has to be the top (Horn, XL, Rico, Wonnum, maybe more). After that, no idea. I would guess ND (Evans, Tremble, maybe more) and maybe Bama (Bryce, Robinson, maybe more) and TCU (Dalton, Moehrig, maybe more). I think we have a lot of colleges that have 2 players on our roster. Guessing most of our players are from the SEC. I don't know where most of our random practice squad callups and free agent acquisitions went to.
  4. It would make for an awkward environment to just let him ride out the deal so the 5th year makes sense. Especially given the college football landscape. Think QB is going to be a big need regardless of Bryce. If he does end up sucking again, get banged up, or whatever, there's no way in hell we continue with Dalton.
  5. playoffs would be nice winning record will also be nice (it was totally not expected this year, especially after being a laughing stock last season) winning record this year AND next year will be unprecedented in Panthers history
  6. That was his draft assessment largely. People had him as high as LB3 in the class (Brugler) but as low as LB8 depending on how you thought you could coach him. The skills and athleticism are all there, but his awareness and in-game IQ are mid at best. Ton of potential/those guys have bloomed plenty before, but he's been pretty inconsistent. Not every one of these types will be a Navarro Bowman. Thing you wonder is how a guy like him can do if you find a stud to pair him with. If he's got all the traits and a guy to help guide him, it could be a good recipe. A true captain-level ILB is a huge need in the offseason.
  7. Isn't it fun for a change to be arguing about IF/WHEN playoff scenarios?
  8. The 5th Year reportedly is being picked up. Which, they were going to do. Is Bryce the future? Still very doubtful if not an outright no. But the 5th year option won't break the bank, he's an expensive backup if nothing else if we find a guy. If/when he's playing here under the 5th year, he'll be paid as like the 22nd QB in the league. That's...fine.
  9. I mentioned this in another thread, but you're spot on. The only way I see us winning the division is to sweep Tampa and win at least 3 of the last 4. Highly unlikely Tampa loses to anyone else but us. The worst part is it looks like Mike Evans is coming back and he's taken our lunch money twice a year ever since Josh Norman left. Losing to New Orleans was an absolute catastrophe that put us in a nearly impossible situation.
  10. Man, Lane Kiffin really is a real villainous asshole, isn't he? Basically the more verbal, less successful Nick Saban.
  11. Even if the Bucs lose to NO or ATL, they will still have the tiebreaker over us due to a better record in common games. Only way we could realistically make the playoffs over them if we split with them is if they lose to both NO and ATL, which isn't going to happen. If Tampa somehow lost NO (or ATL) and at Miami while we win all but 1 Tampa game, we could end up winning the division off having a better record (also unlikely to happen). Pretty much, it's sweep the Bucs to make the playoffs. If we don't, we have a very small chance to make the playoffs
  12. Biggest thing that’s stood out to me is that he no longer had the green dot. Maybe bc Barnes had more practice days?
  13. He isn't slow, he is actually a very good athlete. I think he is just slow to react to everything. He isn't instinctive at all. He's basically a reserve LB.
  14. I hate to add fuel to this idiotic thread, but we should also be arguing over what constitutes a "dort." (a throw that is somewhat dart-like while also being kind of dot-like.)
  15. He is ultimately a backup. He is fine in his position until he can be upgraded. He isn't as bad as Rozeboom, I suppose, if that were some sort of bar that mattered.
  16. If we do this(bring him back soon), it better be with the intent to jettison Hunt when he re-injures this. Otherwise, it will be insanely foolish from a short term and long term perspective.
  17. I go back and forth on Canales. If he gets this team to the playoffs though, I'll be a believer.
  18. The determination used for Spotrac and OTC are not clear to me. It does seem to heavily be weighted on playing time/starting but as we know that isn't always a determination of market value. BC I don't know if he will return to us. It depends on his recovery. That was a really bad injury to have for a guy that will be very close to the end of his career. I hope he recovers completely and we get 2-3 more years of excellent backup play from him. He has been quietly one of our most valuable lineman in a long time, despite being a backup. I am find keeping Corbett at the correct cost and as a backup. He has no business starting at Center anymore. Not to mention he can literally never stay healthy. I agree on EDGE and QB. Two biggest issues by a wide margin(amongst the PILE of other issues). We have a couple of young guys that look to be capable role player replacements for Jones/Wonnum, but it is time to shoot for the moon and get actual upper tier pass rushers into Carolina again. Final note, when I am pooh-poohing these reserves that you are falling in love with, it's nothing special I am doing. A bit of "eye test" with a healthy dose of realizing that most backups are backups for a reason. Especially when they have gone through multiple free agent cycles and the league has resoundingly said, "Nah." Not everyone is Freddie Luvu. Most are Christian Rozeboom's.
  19. I'm talking about a serious option. Not someone you pulled from the bargain bin.
  20. I think this whole ‘controversy’ was fabricated by the media. Chuba was the starting back. He got injured. Backup performed admirably. Chuba came back too soon and it cost the team a game because DC put his loyalty to Chuba over that of the team. The media then shoved microphones in the faces of Chuba and DC wanting comments on the ensuing ‘demotion’ and from there the narrative was born. This exact scenario plays itself out on every team in the nfl many times over in a season. Our local media is just hungry for ANY story that isn’t considered heresy, lest their access be abolished by the king.
  21. clearly, not. Because Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes also have a long career history and that big picture influences the small picture greatly. What does Bryce's big picture tell you about being hidden in games. What that be normal strategy Dave implements in large parts of games? Have we seen his current coach implement that strategy? The answer is yes. We are factually talking about the worst starting QB in the NFL since 2023 here. You seem to forget and now you want to utter about HOFers lol folks trying way to hard here.
  22. Today
  23. I think head coaching in the NFL is learned. I think he responds to his mistakes. That's all we can really ask for.
  24. Sadly I think the team views Wallace as the guy, and despite help from TD and Luke, he's barely taken a step. Need to upgrade the position in the worst way, and hope he can develop into a decent 2nd guy.
  25. Bryce is throwing lobs not darts. Which is fine if they are going to a guy we feel confident in but if the defense picks up on the offensive scheme the easiest way to combat that is make sure your safety is always sliding to Coker or tmac and leave XL with the one on one opportunity. Don't get me wrong the passes were thrown with great placement but Coker and tmac made plays on the ball that I wouldn't count on XL to make. That would be how I would defend deep against us. Especially on that crosser for tmacs td. No way in fug my safety is going to shade to xl's side and leave my corner one on one with Tmac
