Don’t help yourself to too many servings of that humble pie. If you are looking at the Carolina Panthers as your barometer for evaluating QB talent, well…
-
Of course having more talent this year helps. But no matter who is on Defense they can’t be on the field nearly 40 minutes a game.
-
Hooker? I think max practice squad pay is something like $22k per week. I doubt he got half that. More than I make though. By a lot.
-
When DB and then Shaq went down, it really was. We knew there were going to be issues even with them out there.
-
NY fans really show up for hockey more than football. The Giants/Jets have really kept them from repping too hard. Now the Pats fan, however. What a bunch of insufferable MFers. That is the worst fanbase by a mile. I have seen them try to start as many fights as an Eagles fan while being louder.

So where we are, is back to there are no real comps. He is this guy with a weaker arm, that guy but smaller. Etc. -

my GOAT is currently Koa Peat. Wonder if he could play edge

The D is mostly benefitting from having actual NFL talent on the field this year. The unit Evero was forced to field last year was an abomination.

I'm just talking about how they played the game. I don't really care about the size part of it. Otherwise you limit the comps you can make. I mean even look at the player you mentioned - Brees. Him and Garcia were the same size and yet Garcia played way different. And one of Garcia's problems was his weak arm (like Bryce's). And for his time, Garcia was pretty small. Not Bryce or Flutie small, but still far from a big guy. Just on a quick google search, a lot of people say Doug Flutie had a pretty strong arm. That alone makes it hard for me to compare him to Bryce. -

Smaller Chad Pennington is the best I have. -
Yeah and that was my point. We need most things. Just start ticking off the best of those you can get. BPA, all day.

I don’t remember Garcia being that small. I don’t remember a ton except that like they couldn’t get rid of him he kept being the QB and was okay. Won some games. Just looked, he is the same size as Brees 6’1” 205 smack in the middle between Bryce and prototype QB size. Flutie 5’10” 180. Near perfect match body wise. Without looking at YouTube just fuzzy memory, I feel like he had an NFL arm. And was a good scrambler for the era. Looked at some video. Yeah he had an arm.Fun guy to watch play and had been in the CFL. His path was the opposite of Bryce nobody gave him anything. Which made him easy to root for. If Bryce could be Flutie we would be okay. I don’t think he is. Edit: Flutie threw a nice ball. Hit guys in stride. Accurate good anticipation. I wish Bryce was Flutie. -

Before you all rip me an ass, let me voice my opinion. It is not sustainable winning with 148 yards passing and no touchdowns. If they didn't have Stephen Davis rushing for 178 yards, they would be in deep trouble. I am thrilled that they are winning. I am not being negative, just realistic. The season is almost half way over and they still have the problem of anemic QB production. Believe me, they know something has to give sooner or later. I like Jake as a person and seems like a good dude. But being a good dude will not win games in the long run. Sooner or later, they will have to make a change. Their is a certain level of production that you need from the QB position. This kind of production will not get them to the next level.

Jeff Garcia OBVIOUSLY Garcia >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bryce. But I thought coming out of Alabama, that was the best comp for Bryce. I can't really speak on Doug Flutie because I haven't seen much of him. -
I wouldn’t have counted Dalton since he was brought in to be the clear backup. But yeah Teddy played decent when Brees was hurt so we gave him starter money instead of just rolling with Cam for one more season or drafting a QB. It might not have mattered anyway with how badly Rhule fumbled everything

This. His best bet is to go home to California, and show up to Kyle Shanahan's office and say I'll be the 3rd string QB, just bring me in. Being the back-up for the 49ers should be his career hope right now.

He is a great player or was.

I agree the growth is there. -
If a good developmental QB like Sellers is available mid to late in the first round AND we have a plan to bring a vet in and let him sit and learn for 1-2 years, then I’m all for it.
