Please explain. Not understanding Thielen as a training wheel.

Bingo. Because everything they've done to this point says they know he's not and they're working very hard to try and hide that fact.

The entire league is praising Bryce’s development If you cannot see what that is then thats on you and wants to see him do well. This has absolutely no bearing on anything honestly. I want to sleep with Kate Upton make it so
-
I think the bigger question most of us are asking is simply "Why is Bryce the unquestioned/undisputed starter?" What has he done to outright warrant that? If both morgan and dave say competition is good then why the fug is andy dalton on this roster?

The entire league is praising Bryce’s development and wants to see him do well. Meanwhile the miserable losers on here would rather take a flyer on the Drew Locks of the league

Oh I have no doubt that Stafford is better. He's also one of the most experienced QBs in the league, has great protection, is taller, has a whole crew of top notch receivers and has a very aggressive play calling program that makes good use of tight ends and play action. Bryce, really doesn't have any of that at this time. But here's the deal... whether you, I or any of the other "experts" on this board think it should be otherwise, Bryce will be heading into our 2026 season as the starting QB for the team. We could sit back and just cry about it and gnash our teeth or just hope that Canales and crew know what they're doing and that they see something in practices and meeting rooms that we don't have access to that makes this the direction they are heading. That being said, right now, I think an even more pressing matter is who are we going to sit on the bench behind Bryce. His size, and a whole new slew of questions about our O-line, makes injury a possibility and there's always the what if he sputters out? Dalton, thanks for coming here but... I think it's time to hang up the cleats.

Bryce truthers call people "box-score watching casual fans" and say things like "stats don't tell the story" until some made up BS stats support Bryce. Which is ironic, because he also fails the basic eye test in spades.
-
I mean, he pretty clearly improved in that area this past season. He also clearly needs to take more shots down the field, but his deep accuracy has definitely improved since his rookie year.

I got some golf shoes with the BOA (not bank of America) system. It's legit awesome. I wish it was on every shoe made.

Can’t wait to hear you guys crying about how Dan isn’t doing enough or missed with some signings

This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)

Detroit. anybody that walked through those doors at the time failed -
The narrative's always been that they limit the playbook because of Bryce not that he's incapable of completing a deep pass. If he threw 99% on a handful of attempts that totally fits what we've been saying. Calling it "efficiency" without any regard for volume is a stretch. Stafford had the most deep attempts in the league and is just under Bryce completion rate at 98.7%. Who do you think is better at it?

total nonsense. Big time throws aren't deep passes. as for the rest, it's not actually stats shaking out like that like some suggests because it's not stats and production.....as Bryce is graded on subjective imaginations of plays that also don't even happen. Incompletions. and if you are the best at something, you aren't at the bottom half in attempting to do such a thing. It's like naming some random backup RB with a small handful of carries that hit some draw plays for big gains that worked out well....the best RB in the NFL lol.

Who is going to take a shot at Malik Willis

Exactly. It make no sense to pick up the fifth year AND spend 50M on what? At best, a qb competition where each competitor is making 25M+ or at worst a 25M+ backup. The team that overspends for him will be expecting him to start. -

I can't see the team going out of their way for a QB next season, think that was their whole reasoning behind picking up Bryce's fifth year. I'm expecting a low profile draft pick and a vet to replace Dalton. -
As I understand it, and I may be wrong, the stat is less about situational success and more about a nice throw into a small window. And then you can project that onto a situational deal. It has been a while but the definition was really broad and doesn’t focus on ‘time’ at all. The throw could be in the 2nd qtr of an October football game. A purely routine situation. It is a quality of the throw thing. They name these stats to impart importance to them. Big time. Deep. To me those aren’t really honest characterizations and it frustrates me. Kind of like we (or, I, anyway) tend to think of game winning drives as being a 4 minute or less drive brilliantly orchestrated by the QB when in reality it can include a score following a turnover on the first play of the 4th quarter, a couple of handoffs and the kicker comes in. If that is the deciding score, you get a game winning drive. That is the truth.

For me the time to take the chance was where the Packers got him (yet it doesn’t seem like they took advantage). Or where the Titans did (3rd round). Anyway Green Bay gave Tennessee a 7th rounder for him. Everyone is on him now. The ticket price has gone way up to where he is like betting on the prohibitive favorite. He would have to ‘win’ or you are screwed. -
While I agree Bain got a lot of the double teams this year, Mesidor actually faced a ton of double teams in 2024 (along with Bain when healthy) and still had pretty good stats. The much better DT play Miami had in 2025 helped limit the number of double teams Mesidor faced. I actually think Mesidor has one of the best combos of speed + technique among edge rushers in the class (probably behind Bain & Bailey). Run defense might be a problem for him and he is not good in coverage (aka he needs to be strictly rushing the passer/playing the run every down he is on the field). Jarred Verse was old also (24 at the start of his rookie year), so I hope we aren't using age as a big knock on his draft rank. We could still get 5 years out of him before he hits his 2nd contract and then move on if he gets pricy his age 29/30 season. Medicals definitely need to be looked at closely for him, though he has stayed healthy the last 2 seasons.

We really should look into him heavily and see if he's worth taking a chance on. But it's the Panthers. They're dumb, so they won't. Stuck with the midget for another season. -
In other news, Nick Mullens is the most accurate QB in the NFL... he has 100% completion percentage!!!!! (don't pay attention to the fact that he only attempted 3 passes)
-
Maybe PFF calls it Big Time throws for Bryce because since he is such a little guy, any throw pass the line of scrimmage counts as a Big Time throw... And it would have been nice if PFF included Big Time Throw attempts/game on that graphic also. Because we all know Bryce attempted like maybe 2 deep passes per game
