  1. Today
  2. But I must agree with others J Rod won't be available at 51 and require a jump top of second minimum.
  3. Right! the defense is stacked and literally one LB away from being one of the best defenses in the league. The talent is there and Im a firm believer that you build in the trenches. I believe the best way you help Bryce out is giving him time and that means get a OT.
  4. Yet you want a WR of which only Tate is projected as a year 1 starter. The WR in our range are depth.
  5. We need a tackle but we need to take one that we think can be what we need after a year of development. If that player isn't available at a particular early draft spot, don't reach. Take the stronger positional value instead. We have multiple needs across this team. I think we could address the position in the draft but only if we address it wisely. Don't take one just to take one. If we don't take a tackle, at least take a center. We don't need to leave the draft with at least 1 offensive lineman. I'd prefer 2. Starting caliber center and a tackle that can at least be a RT, and possibly a left. We need to get this offensive line back to a more even place of rookie contracts with veteran contracts to get the cap spending under control.
  6. It would take next years 2nd or maybe this years 3rd to move that far
  7. Perspective is EVERYTHING. Having a RB that is great at short yardage is fantastic. Most teams will choose not to risk the QB if they dont need to. Cam, Allen are outliers. They aren't the norm.
  8. I appreciate the honesty in your posts--I am not sure Canales is rusing(?) because I don't think we are good enough yet to draft players for depth on day 1. I do think we are in limbo, fwiw. At 19, I think you are drafting second rounders in the first.
  9. We are in a unique situation here. Just my opinion. Three things: Moton’s playing health has been gradually declining as he is aging, while his contract is a drag on the payroll. Something will give with him sooner than later but I think 2026 could be it. So.. need a right tackle by 2027. At the latest. Icky’s individual situation is unique as well. They would have had an extension done by now if not for the injury. We only have him for this year. With no assurance he will ever be the same player. It would be reckless just to assume. Now we have Walker for one year. And that is a major relief. Maybe he is the answer, but the team that knows him best let him go and it was cheap for us to sign him. So how much did they value him? We look to be needing two tackles by 2027. And have poo for depth this year as well. So anyway we could draft a guy for 2027 RT and groom him this year, and see how Icky does, and act as needed in 2027. Spread out filling the two holes over 2 years. Then I remember, hey if Bryce doesn’t get a Lot more consistent do they extend him? Hoping not, if he isn’t really good. So then we are looking at the 2027 draft which people say is gonna be loaded with QBs. If we need a LT and a QB what is the pick gonna get spent on? Taking into account the recovery success rates cited here on the Icky surgery, you might want to plan for him to not be the same player. rather than assume he will be and get caught with your pants down. It is a tough situation. And factor in that it is critically important to protect this QB, always, but especially this year where it is said to be make or break. And how you might feel about that. All of it points to a real possibility that these things converge in the negative, like Bruce sucks and Icky is not the same. In that case if you want to be assured of getting LT secured, the only place you can do that through the draft could be very well be 2026 1st round. For me, I would like to err on the side of caution. Cover for these outcomes. It wouldn’t be fun. Added benefit is if we do have a tackle go down this year we will have a guy there. Because I don’t know what we have now.
  10. I agree. In a perfect world I wouldn’t want to draft another WR, but in this draft it’s fine based on the value of who will be there at #19. All of the top tier guys worth pick #19 at other positions of need will be long gone. Only exception is Dillon Thieneman, but he’s almost a shoe in for the Vikings as the Harrison Smith replacement. Some posters on here want to draft an OT just to check a box without realizing the concerns and risk that comes along with said player. Sounds like XL to me… desperately drafting need… KC is a pretty safe player. Produced all 3 years in college and last year in the SEC vs a lot of top corners in this years draft. He single handily dropped the South Carolina CB Brandon Cisse’s draft stock with how bad he abused him. Sometimes it’s best to try and hit a double instead of going for the home run. This draft screams “go for the double”. Esp in the first.
  11. Look at what the Bears have done with Caleb Williams, drafting playmaking WR's and TE's and making it easier for him to operate the offense. Conception is perfect for what the offense needs (speed and someone who can make defenders miss) and as today, April 11th, I think he's the pick @19
  12. KC Conception rankings : PFF: #35 Dane Brugler: #21 Matt Miller: #34 Daniel Jeremiah: #29 Eric Edholm: #21 The more I see of him, the more I like him. Conception will be there when we pick @19, but the real question for the front office is whether they value him more than the top OT, CB, or safety options. TE Kenyon Sadiq will likely be gone before their pick, and there isn’t a DT worth taking at 19.
  13. So you’re ok having a rookie LT ride the bench? I’d rather just wait and see how Walker plays and how Icky progresses. Icky would most likely sign a 1 year “prove it” deal in 2027. Drafting a safety or WR in the late first is not the worst decision in this particular draft.
  14. Nothing guarantees any of these WR will not be a bust just the same. When in doubt go lineman.
  15. It’s easier said than done. Especially vs bigger, stronger men. I’m sure Utah’s weight training program was no joke.. Some guys just never get to that strength level no matter how hard they hit the weights. If we draft him though, I hope he does develop his strength. I’d just rather wait till next year to draft an OT. With our tough schedule, it might be a possibility to get a blue chip OT talent. Not a late first.
  16. I'm not a stan, but I really like Caleb Lomu. The ONLY knock on him is he needs to improve core strength. An NFL weight room and regimen will improve that in no time. He has the best feet, hands, balance, and recovery of any tackle in the class, imo.
  17. I think it’s a stretch but a lot of the rankings had Sanders going in the first last year despite predraft shenanigans. Not an apples to apples comparison but we don’t know where anyone is on the board. just my opinion
  18. Yeah, I agree. bridges shoots way too many threes. Brandon is our best all around player and if he put on some weight he'd be unstoppable
  19. Some of you fail to listen to what the coaches and GM say. They’ve been saying we need more explosion on offense for months now. It’ll be Omar Cooper Jr or KC Concepcion at 19. My money is on KC. Esp after how bad our PR game was last year..
  20. One great thing about Concepcion is that he’s been balling since day 1 as a freshman. That’s always a great sign of an NFL caliber talent. If you’re “that dude” you show it immediately once you step on campus at the college level. So the complete opposite of XL.
  21. Bridges wants to jack up threes like melo and kon and needs to be getting to the basket. Miller needs to get stronger and do more of that too
  22. I think carolina will move up to get Rodrigueze, possibly into the bottom of the 1st. Carolina is at the point where they dont need a ton of picks, just play makers. a LB with Green Dot capabilities is important enough to give up future draft capital for.
  23. Yesterday
  24. It’s amazing how well the d played tonight without Miller in the lineup.
  25. Yeah, if we go offense in round one, it feels like it has to either be that Oregon TE or OL. Our TEs are probably the worst TE unit in the league and our OL is rapidly aging and highly paid. Three straight 1st round WRs is insane given all the other holes on this roster. Detroit got mocked for that for years and that was even with one of those WRs being Megatron. Three straight 1st round WRs plus the draft capital given up to trade up for Bryce would mean we have just an insane amount of draft capital tied up in a QB and WRs.
