  2. It can happen but it’s nothing like the NBA. One player doesn’t make the difference in the NFL that one player can in the NBA. Also, there are just not the same amount of trades and even opportunities. Because the NFL isn’t just one stud away, you don’t get a lot of opportunities like Miami did with Tua or the Jets did with Zach Wilson. Both teams got multiple 1sts for players they traded (Jets had 5 1sts in 2021-2022 and Miami had 5 1sts in 2020-2021) and both got top 5 picks to select a QB. They both made some good and bad picks but Miami turned Tua into multiple playoff appearances even though Tua isn’t elite. Wilson was just so bad that the Jets still sucked. We had our opportunity in 2022 where we would have had 6 1sts and 4 2nds in 2023-2025 and probably had a top 5 pick in 2023 or 2024 for a QB without trading up. Unfortunately, Fitterer didn’t have the foresight to realize a full rebuild was necessary and when a team offers you 2 1sts and a 2nd for a non-QB like Tunsil and Burns, you take it. One thing I wish trades had in the NFL that they have in the NBA is protected picks. A moron like Fitterer could have a top 5 protected pick so his terrible GMing doesn’t accidentally give the Bears the #1 overall pick because the moron Fitterer incorrectly thought we were 1 player away from the playoffs.
  3. Anyone that believes getting a couple late season wins to end the season at 4-13 while picking 9th in each round, other than 2-15 with the 1st pick in each round is not being realistic. It happens nearly every other year, Jags gave the browns a insane package to move from 2nd to 5th. If not for late season pointless/everyone forgets late season wins the Panthers would have gotten that franchise changing package. Not to mention Panthers would have had Herbo and Sewell in other years, but nope. Do I need to bring up da bears??? The goal is long term winning in order to make the playoffs, one season to tank could spark it with a Burrow that's gets sacked 60 times on the way to a SB. I want to win as bad as anyone, but the second the Panthers are eliminated from playoff contention, the ONLY solution is to lose the remaining games to gain a better chance to never do that again. No other answer.
  4. Looks like Dallas will be week 6.. It's likely going to be a late late late BYE week, ugh Last game of season @ tampa (warm-ish weather game, hopefully. Well, not "cold", at least)
  5. If Cam and Luke were truly these HOF game changer that we all believe, their influence should have lead to wins, including b2b. I feel us fans overrated their abilities. Watched some of the Luke coming call 70% of plays before they happened, most of his team mates didn't listen to answer. There was nearly no reaction to his call out, it was bizarre. That seemed to be the main problem. No clue why this never got addressed. Gross and Smitty were here in late stage, each were able to bring good positive play level in their 30s. Cam had the best IOL for around 2.5 years and 2 legit studs at RBs. Lafell was alright for a #2 as well. DL during this time was top tier- Star, KK, Hardy, Johnson.. The D finished in the top 5, I believe two different times and others it no lower than 8th. I just remembered Oher was here for good LT play for what 1.5 seasons, too. Luke and Cam should have better results.
  6. Split weeks 1 and 2. Win week 3,lose 4, w5, lose 6, win 8 should be 4-4 heading into the meat of the schedule. Seems doable
  7. Honestly, feels like our home games are much harder. Ignore the division games. Home will be Dallas (I know, but they had our number last year), Buffalo, Miami, Rams and Seahawks. Road is Jax, Jets, Arizona, New England and Green Bay.
  8. we have already seen a bad Panther team with the best RB in the NFL on it......it was a losing team. Not even a playoff sniffing team. QB is the end all be all in the NFL. You don't have the QB play.....then you need a super team essentially. Which Philly has. Finding a QB is easier than building a super team.
  9. in 2024 KC was the #1 seed with the best record in the NFL....in the tougher AFC. They finished the year in the Super Bowl. I mean, 2024 Mahomes showed once again, QB play is the king maker in the NFL and what mattered most.....because as you said, Mahomes did all that with an ok team around him. The team from the NFC that meet him there? They had to have the #1 defense, arguably the best OL in the NFL, skill weapons coming out the ears.....because their QB isn't the level of Mahomes. KC lost a game at the end. But the season 100% showed that Mahomes is the difference maker and why getting QB right is what matters most.
  10. Week 14 @ ATL would make some sense for a late-ish division game. Would prefer to see it in week 16/17/18 but we'll take what we can get
  11. From his twitter feed and I have no idea how trust worthy a dude named Tbone is but it seems very favorable for the panther W1 at Jags W2 at AZ W3 vs Falcons W4 at NE W5 vs Miami W7: at Jets W8: vs Bills W9 at GB W10 vs NO W12 at 49ers (MNF) W13 vs Rams W14 at Falcons
  12. Ransom deserves a chance to fall flat on his face. The kid comes in and out of cuts quickly and plays well down hill. Rome wasn't built in a day and everything cannot be addressed in one offseason. I still don't think some of the guys on the huddle realize how bereft of talent Rhule and the gang left this organization.
  13. Smokescreen or do you think this is legit info? Rod's usually a "we'll just have to see" kind of guy. Surprised he came out and said this. Hope it's true with the roll we're on right now.
  14. Not to say we haven't been fuged by the NBA just like a lot of the other small market teams like what just transpired but when we have had the ability to get a star or superstar, we have largely flubbed it royally. Jordan cast a massive shadow over the organization with his horrific talent evaluations for years and years.
  15. Agree with EVERYTHING you have here! The dline might help you with covering, but it won't do anything with his ability to tackle. Evero's defense has a lot of gap responsibility from safeties. They either missed their gaps, or (mostly) missed the tackle. I thought Woods did a good job of filling his gaps and tackling. He actually led the with 119 tackles last season. He just wasn't good at covering.
  16. Today
  17. I don't think 1 player makes this team a contender. Playoff team? Sure, that bar is pretty low with the expanded playoffs. I just think the D is going nowhere with Evero, DC is still way too green at best and the roster just isn't that good. The oline is the best position group and that could have holes at OC and RT with a little bad luck...not evem mentioning the usual NFL freak injuries. A top QB makes it a playoff team looking at the rest of the NFC south. Hell TB does it with just a solid QB and revolving door at OC.
  18. I could see week 17 being @ NO for the seemingly traditional CAR v NO new years special, considering Atl and TB are already booked. Week 16 and 18 could go either way on the TB/ATL opponent list
  19. from a TV perspective, the ARI game would naturally be in the 4p slot. So would the SF game unless it got one of the national slots like MNF All the other games we know so far are currently toss-ups as to whether they'll stay at 1p or get picked up into a 4p showcase
  20. just curious... have they announced all the TNF games? If so, this is good news! We need all the help we can get to prevent injuries, and between both teams playing, it seems like there is at least one significant injury (where player misses multiple weeks or more) from TNF
  21. I'm genuinely OK with a lack of prime time games. And certainly more than OK with no Thursday games that statistically greatly increase injury risks. This team has been ass for years, and even though I am optimistic for this upcoming season, the last thing I want is to see us poo the bed again in prime time. If we're good enough, we will get rewarded at the end of the year. Also, while watching prime time games is fun, going to a 1PM game is so much better from a scheduling standpoint with kids.
  22. Everyone was pretty happy with his start to the season. He was doing well as a compliment to DJ. When DJ got shipped, he took on more X responsibilities and it didn’t work out, he struggled, got injured and hit the rookie wall. Pretty sure we see him returning to more slot, flanker and a lot more free releases stuff. He did this pretty well to begin with. All draft reports cited he’s be good at this, poor at X and it showed. Im excited for his year 2
  23. if the NFL is trying to keep an entire division (well, most of) on the same BYE week date as much as possible, then that would most likely fall the week before the MNF game in SF. If that's true, that would be an extra day of recovery which would be a bonus Smelling like our home opener is against Atlanta
  24. They also had the #1 defense. Barkley is a great RB but any top 10 back in the league would have had a career year playing in Philly last year.
