I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3. Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys. I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.

Ivan Provorov signed a 7 year deal worth 8.5m AAV with Columbus.

The Carolina Hurricanes shared on Monday that they have issued qualifying offers to the following players, retaining the rights to five pending restricted free agents: Skyler Brind'Amour Domenick Fensore Noel Gunler Ronan Seeley Ryan Suzuki They have also traded a 2026 7th round pick for MTL goalie Cayden Primeau
-
Rumor Marchand has agreed to a 6 year 32m deal. 5.3m AAV. Puts them over the cap by 400k.
-
They've got to cut around 7m in cap space, so just Hertl wouldn't get them under. Lol
-
You don't put the spoiler alert at the end, L-Town. Sheez. I will say that his belief in undersized NTs seems to be behind us. We got some beef at NT.

I think that Cam rubbed some refs the wrong way, but I had forgotten this stuff. Should not matter. I remember being furious with Rivera. I personally think Rivera was the most overrated coach in Panther history--he had Cam, weapons, a great defense--and never had back-to-back winning seasons. As a Coordinator in San Diego with Norv Turner (I believe) I recall a season when they were #1 on D and #1 on Offense and still struggled to make the playoffs.

What are y'all grilling/smoking with ??
PanthersATL replied to Mayor Qumiby's topic in Huddle Lounge
For those with a classic 22" or 26" Weber Kettle, go and get yourselves two things: a) the VORTEX. It's basically a piece of heavy-duty sheet metal formed into a volcano/cone shape. Sit that in the middle of your kettle and pile in your charcoal. Crank the coals up to max temperature (open all the vents, you know the drill) and put chicken wings or thighs around the outside of the center ring. You've got yourself the best air fryer setup for some incredible super-crispy grilled wings. Lowes shows it at $40, but your local Walmart may have it for under $15, check the clearance rack https://www.lowes.com/pl/grills-outdoor-cooking/grilling-tools-accessories/vortex/4294610365-721174412814 b) Envious of all your friends with a wifi-enabled pellet grill? Add wifi control and accurate temp management to your Weber kettle with the SPIDER GRILL's VENOM controller. Get complete temp control for your kettle with this electronic add-on (no drilling holes required!). -
@Basbear…definitely respect your opinion but Kon is baby Bird. He is way better than people think and actually has crazy upside. He does many things good but he is a worker and will get better. One of the most fundamentally sound players to come out in a while. Athletic ability isn’t everything

Just saw the Rat is staying a panther
-
Marner sign and trade done.... Vegas needs to move cap.... Time to see if there was anything to the Hertl stuff
-
Eckblad would have gotten 7-8 as a UFA. I think Marchand is leaving.

Except he’s not a panthers fan, he’s a Cam fan who only started following the team when Cam was the QB. And yes it bias sticking to your take hate. Even when every grading outlet gives Bryce praise Ruiz would find something to nitpick or find some obscure stat to prove his point.

Part of the conspiracy about remmers was they did give help in play calls, according to Darin Gantt. Just for whatever reason the players missed the play call numerous times. I mean until that point, they never had to shift protection that whole season. They hadn't practiced it either. My biggest beef with the whole Cam era was Ron Rivera never blew a fuse by cussing out the refs or go on a epic rant that cost him 100,000 calling out the hypocrisy with player safety when defenders are head hunting my QB. I know he sent in plays and had contact with league officials, it didn't stop the blatant behavior of scrambling Cams brain when the league had great focus on protecting QBs. The nice guy routine didn't wrong RON and you just didn't want to upset the NFL by going off during and after games. I do know this as well, after Cam told the reporters " Youre not old enough for that call ". The refs had each others back worse than the cops or married folks, from that point on it was open season. Such petty BS should never happen in a professional league.

ESPN: Offseason's Biggest Surprise Players on Each Team

Screw Newton! I just hope that Chau makes the second year leap that Horn and Canales are claiming. Would be nice to see our draft picks progressing. Maybe we do have better position coaching under Canales and can develop players like real NFL teams do. -

Incoming rant-, clouds, gold, and such..... After time has passed along with the sexton trade, maybe there is something to this "culture". I know this, the current crew minus a player here and there, is bitach made. Ball is soft and goofy. It's like a virus has taken over and no one wants to get healthy. That said, I still maintain you can not pick Matt Carroll errrrra Kon Knueppel at 4th overall. I don't even think you can pick him in the top 10 or lottery for that matter. Still I spent too time and more than few reputable draft "gurus" had him at 3rd overall. Many had him in the 4-6 range. I still don't see how, but I have been wrong before. Just not to bag on him, he's a "role" player and 4th overall is not the time or place for that type of player. In order for Kon to be successful, you have to run the system for him....... You are telling me Ball, Bridges, Miller and other pros are going to let a least athletic guy smart his way into shooting the ball??? I need to witness how this plays out... I have huge doubts. Enough bitachin, Im starting to turn into hornet player. Some good is for a 29 overall pick Liam McNeely is what I have Kon comp as. The guys at CBS loved him and the whole hornets draft. So did many others. Yea instant draft reactions are _________ . I was not a James fan, but Kalkbrenner fits in with tough culture with high IQ. I do think James can D up tho.... Maybe they can tougher up those baby wipe soft hornet players. I say let the 2nd and 3rd units grid out those bitaches just cashing checks. Sexton is a legit tough guy willing to drive and take punishment without going on IR like a weakling.... I hate that I've been given hope.

Moores drop percentage is about the same as XLs

We aren’t going poo the off-season bed are we??

I believe Stanford is the highest all-time player in NFL salary terms. He was the last year of those crazy rookie contract, so day one he was a top 5 guy. Lions paid him well after the deal and so have the rams. He's been weeeeeellllllllllllllllll compensated for playing in Detroit.
-
Moore, Frankly is insurance. Its what he should be at this stage of his surprising long UDFA career. If the evil injury monster grabs one of the top guys, Moore can help with filling in. If Moore doesn't make this team with knowing he is a system guy, that's a great sign. Plus like was posted above, he can play on the PS. People have been counting out Moore every year, including myself(I recall his 1st panther run...). He just keeps cashing NFL checks while the new wave of rookie WRs figure it out.... I heard he became one of those super serious healthy types with his body at this stage too. I mean, horn was the 208th player picked, thats UDFA zip code......horn just sold Dan the GM on his "Miami" mindset. Horn already had a hamstring deal and missed valuable reps, Moore could be the guy on the roster and they risk horn to PS. I heard a sort-a crazy idea with Coker as well- let him transition to a hybrid TE/WR given the lack of TE with tremble hurting. I mean....... its nice to have a "deep" WR for the first time in like ever to come up with this idea.....

Tarasenko was traded to the Wild Knies signed for 6 years at 7.75m aav

They got both at a discount and Bennett at a heavy one. Still have enough for Marchand but would loose a ton of depth. They have 4.9m in cap space left after the Ekblad signing.
