  1. Past hour
  2. Crazy to say this but.... the rags are no longer a concern for the Canes.... they wont make the playoffs.... and the machine that is the Carolina Hurricanes just keeps rolling
  3. We're playing backs at key spots s ross half games so far....inconsistent pass pro is gonna be hard to overcome.
  4. Didnt watch the video, but I agree Bryce is 100% a complimentary piece right now. No argument there. But to be fair, there are only a handful of QBs that aren't. Lamar. Pat. Josh. Maybe Stafford. Herbert. Maybe Dak? Though not sure how good he would have looked last week without Pickens. A franchise QB can be a complimentary piece.
  5. The hubris in those early quotes is insane in hindsight. It's Matt Rhule level cringeworthy.
  6. If there isn't even incremental progression over the course of this season, much less next season, I am just not sure how you roll with him in year 5. But, $30 mil(est) is not an insignificant amount albeit fairly modest by elite QB price tag standards. The biggest issue with all this, as someone astutely pointed out in the thread previously, is that we have to make that 5th year decision this coming offseason. So if we get the projected season he is on track for(3250 yds passing, 165 yds rushing, 31 total TD's, 22 total TO's). Is that gonna be enough to satisfy everyone he is on the rise? Let's say that we even finish within spitting distance of .500?
  7. Tepper still thinks Bryce can grow into another Tom Brady. You can't make this sh#t up. In other words, the remaining Bryce fanboys have as much football acumen as Tepper. You're judged by the company you keep.
  8. No, I mean even that comparison this far in is kind of insulting to LaFell. He was just a better overall player at this point in their careers. The thing thaf is concerning is that he appears to not be struggling with a 1st or 2nd round WR typical issues, he seems to be struggling with an undrafted free agent or practice squad player level issues. How to even become an NFL caliber player and how to raise your play to the level to be on an NFL roster. It's the simplest stuff that he isn't seemingly capable of doing.
  9. Today
  10. 30 mill for a year of qb play that almost any fa qb could give the panthers seems like a waste of money but its not my money.
  11. I find it all a little bit unreal that the 33rd NFL team is coming up short against the likes of Cal.
  12. I guess I worded that wrong, I think he can become a LaFell type WR. He obviously isn’t there yet.
  13. I have since dropped Legette, Sanders, and DB, but I'm still rolling. I had sense enough to draft Chuba's handcuff, but now my workhorse theory is in disarray. But, to keep it real, Canales has had it in disarray from the beginning. I don't know who to start, so I guess I'll go with "the hot hand." I'm at the top of the hill right now though. Dowdle has been a godsend. Bourne was simply a smart strategic pick-up. I traded for Rice weeks ago (for Dak), and his suspension is over, and Christian Watson should be coming off IR soon.
  14. I'm starting him...but I'm in a 12-team league with two TE spots. The TE situation in fantasy is underwhelming. It's basically a wasteland.
  15. I mean, a month ago I didn't want to admit it. Now people are getting their tighty-wighties in a wad because I dare say something decidedly negative about X (and/or Bryce). I am somewhat mystified. I want X to become a star. And I don't really give a fúck what they say, he's been disappointing. The difference between he and Ladd has been stark. If he could just be half of Ladd---hell, Laviska Shenault---it would be a great improvement. A glorified Mingo? Not so much.
  16. We are bottom 2 or 3 in the NFL in TE production. Luckily, they have Justin Fields as their QB. He is one of the few starting QB's in the NFL worse than Bryce. Now if Tyrod gets subbed in, we might be in trouble.
  17. Honestly that's a massive insult to LaFell. LaFell was productive out of the gate and maintained a level of productivity throughout his 9 year career. At this point, I think XL is a lot closer to Mingo than most people want to admit.
  18. If we're keeping it a buck, my original name is Top Dawg. I have been here since 2002 or 2003. Between this board getting hacked, and me forgetting and simply losing my password and the site not sending me a damned reset, I simply made an alternative account. @Zod himself, or any other person who has been on this board for 20+ years will tell you that I've been here a long time. Hell even some who may not have been here that long know I have pretty much been an institution on the board. I am an OG. As for "whining," you can characterize legitimate football discussion however you like, but suffice it to say, if I am "whining," it's due to years of sucking. I would suggest that you, or anyone else who's upset that I have become critical that Xavier Legette will never be worth what we paid for him just suck it up. I haven't even criticized him as much as I've become somewhat critical of him. The same goes for Bryce. If both or one can turn it around, especially when the stakes are at their highest and can be what we thought that we were getting, I will praise them. My like or dislike of a player on the football field doesn't have to be a static proposition. But, you better believe, that as a long term fan that has been with this team before 1995, I am going to criticize, or be critical of, any team member---player, coach, owner---good or bad, as I see fit. That's what the Carolina Huddle is here for.
  19. TBH, the UNC leadership might be more incompetent than the Panthers at the moment. Bill Belichick is the poor man's Matt Rhule of college coaches. Even Rhule wasn't as delusional as Belichick.
  20. Didn’t someone guarantee me Carson Beck was gonna be a top 5 pick LOL
  21. I’ll start by saying he has been very disappointing. I will also say that targets don’t always equal catchable balls. I’ve seen some misses and I’ve seen him get open but not targeted (especially that Dallas game). Has he struggled? Yes very much so. It’s also a case of our offense trying to find him a role and our QB getting chemistry with him in that role. I don’t think he will ever live up to his draft status but I could see him being a Brandon Lafell type player. His last second pull away in his Miami TD was a thing of beauty so there is definitely talent there. Hopefully we can get it out of him soon.
  22. Are we watching UNC save it's season???
  23. Shout out to Etienne BTW being a rookie in that situation. Two hands on ball, up high, tight to body, got the first and then fell to ground being able to run the clock, instead of doing some dumb poo allowing Dak get his hand on the ball again. This year there has been bone-head plays made by RBs and WRs of all stages of career. That goes to coaching IMO, I'm not totally sold on Canales but having young guys not screw up helps sway my opinion of him and his crew. Also seeing the guys reacting at the end of game towards Canales is definitely a better feeling it seems than what has been going on in the Panthers locker room since Tepper has took over. So lets keep stacking these W's and make a push for the playoffs for once! No matter what camp you in BY or NO BY we all Panthers fans here and shouldn't give a fug HOW we get the wins, just getting W's after all this losing got to feel good! Especially to a POS franchise like the Cowboys..... Keep Pounding
  24. I've been here longer if we are keeping it a buck. You whine too much to be an OG.
