  1. Past hour
  2. Makes sense. And with most players like this you just have to take the good with the bad. Bryce’s problem is that it was pretty much all bad early on and now I’d argue it’s much more even. Overall the guys he’s throwing it to are young and as they begin to trust each other that should all improve.
  3. This is my hang up, overall. It’s a struggle for him to get past 200 yards. I need to see more 300 yard games and a 400 yarder mixed in. He can’t do that.
  4. I’m obviously on the other end of the spectrum, but I can respect this; especially coming from you. You have proven to know what you’re talking about
  5. newton had horrible accuracy every agrees on that his athletic ability made up for it. bryces accuracy from just watching is on par with newtons but newton had a way sttonger arm so would attempt alot more longer passes. bryce attempts short passes for most part still has horrible accuracy and has prtty much 0 athletic ability to go with it
  6. Yea tough break I don't even remember him getting injured
  7. The deep sigh I just took could've been heard in Kentucky.
  8. Do we trade for a Edge or roll with what we have?? https://x.com/Panthers/status/1978546553833832506?s=19
  9. Well, to some extent. Some people believe Stafford is a shoe-in for the HOF. Alternatively, some folks think he is a very skilled stat compiler. I guess there is a difference in some minds about the circumstances and perspective.
  10. Can we stop with the stupid attention whore hot take type posts and just enjoy a winning streak for once?
  11. Every player has faults, and many times they can be categorized neatly into obvious traits that make analysis pretty straight-forward. A running back who thrives in zone schemes where their vision and patience is rewarded may struggle when asked to play a physical, violent, north-south style. A quarterback who can make every throw under the sun may never grasp the schematic purpose of the plays he is being asked to run and therefore constantly makes the wrong decision or no decision even with players running free. But the narrative for Bryce Young has almost consistently focused on his size and overall physicality in a league full of supermen, and how it places a hard limit on his ability to do things like shrug off blockers or throw tactical nuclear strikes from 80 yards out. Two seasons plus in hasn't put those concerns fully to rest, but if there is one underlining trait that could potentially derail Bryce's career, it's much more nebulous: his ability to recognize when a play is dead. The proclivity for turnovers that has haunted Bryce through his career doesn't always have the same underlying reasons as most typical young quarterbacks: adjusting to the speed of play, the tightness of NFL throwing windows, being able to diagnose much more advanced coverages, understanding the playbook, etc. One consistent thread is a defining trait that is both a curse and a strength: his ability to make plays off script, which has carried over from his Alabama days. For every miracle escape and razor-margin throw downfield like the 4th down play vs the Dolphins, you seem to have an inexcusable dropped fumble without even being touched (also see Dolphins game.) And the genesis of both is his underlying aggressiveness to make something happen with every snap, sometimes even when the play itself is simply unsalvageable. What often gets Young into trouble isn't an inability to execute a play, but his unwillingness to concede that the risk/reward ratio for a given decision simply isn't worth the attempt. There are few things that will drive a coach to putting a schematic leash on a player more quickly then when that player's outcomes become unpredictable, and even multiple miracle plays can be negated by a single colossal mistake. Where Bryce must find a balance is retaining the ability to conjure magic when needed, but to also keep his risk/reward instincts fully calibrated to what the team as a whole is comfortable with. No successful coach is entirely risk-averse, and many tend to be overly conservative in situations that decides the outcome of games, but "bad" Bryce sometimes emerges in situations where the only correct decision is to simply eat the ball and move on to the next play or next drive. If he can develop a better understanding of this flaw and work to overcome it without abandoning the traits that also make him special, he will take one step closer to becoming the player this franchise sacrificed so much for and redeeming that faith with the entire fanbase.
  12. Is there a fifth option for welded shut and hermetically sealed?
  13. That's pretty cool. I don't care about the garbage versus not-garbage time non-sense. You play what you have to play, and everyone has garbage time one way or another. After all, if you don't win before the game starts, then are you really a winner? Isn't it all garbage time anyway? (Sarcasm with a capital S)
  14. Today
  15. Not cherry picking when I was simply addressing the point of too many ints and I see no reason why Bryces should be "drastically" higher especially given the fact that Newton had Steve Smith, Greg Olsen and Brad Lafell to throw to while Bryce had Theileln, Mingo, and Johnson. If anything, Bryce should have been worse but since you accuse me of cherry picking, I'll add this: Newton completed 57.7 % of his passes with the Pro Bowl players; Young completed 60.9% even with inferior talent to throw to.
  16. Fair enough. I don't think many would argue that situations can certainly make players(much like you are suggesting). However, when players keep changing situations and not being successful, what then? This has always sort of been my point with the historical evaluation problem we have experienced as a franchise. Not saying it is 100% accurate but it's really, REALLY high. That's generally what my perception of Bryce is. He isn't a guy that is likely to be successful almost any place in the NFL.
  17. Eh I’m still going to harp on the amount of sub 200 yard passing games he’s put up, he struggles consistently to reach that 200 yard amount week in and out again not his fault where he got drafted but no need to lower expectations just because of the investment we’ve put into him
  18. Richard Sherman talking about Crabtree....but yeah I dont ever remember a teammate trashing another teammate.
  19. Yesterday
  20. I’d like to see the numbers after the first 4 and how much influence the last 2 games is having on that. because the first 4 games and the last 2 really don’t seem to be the same team.
  21. I feel like Young lost a year with the Reich-Thomas Brown debacle in year one and that really hampered some growth he may have had. With that said, he’s played enough games for me to just not see a franchise qb. I think there is a path for him to be a serviceable qb with a strong running game, good offensive line, and good defense. He could probably be a qb that could win a division in the right circumstances. But it’d be a firm no from me on giving him a big contract at this point without him elevating his play well above where he’s played for two and a half years so far.
