See above. I've said for a while that Tepper basically needs a "king of football" to run the organization while he does nothing but sit back and write checks. Maybe Morgan has that role now, but that's not enough if Morgan isn't up to the task. You need the right structure AND the right people. If you only have one or the other, it's still not good enough.

Panthers Fan 69 started following ‘26 QB or Free Agency

We all now know in year three Young sucks. Who would you want to draft and mentor with a free agent pick?

Legette would be better if we had a qb not afraid to unload...not his fault... -
Yep. Tepper always makes the wrong decision. It blows my mind how dumb and incompetent rich people have become.
-
Dipper is big analytics guy and he blew the easiest analytic stat of all time. No 5'10" 185lb qb has ever made it in the history of the NFL...This all started in a room with Dipper and no one telling him no....his 7 years of ownership has done nothing but champion losing and the worst stretch in Panther history.
-
We benched him after two games last year. If he looks like that again next week you gotta do it again. Probably at halftime.

Don't confuse the eternal optimist. -
He’ll just complain of an injury and sit out. Then everyone will say he was hurt all year.
-
You're not wrong. Hindsight being 20/20 they should've cut the cord then.
-
Nah let him suffer the same way we have. Didn't pay him $39 million just to ride off into the sunset with an easy out.
-
Possible, but unknown. Honestly, we're still basically just one season removed from him being into everything so it's probably too soon to expect massive turnarounds. All that said, there's no guarantee Morgan is the right guy to lead the franchise. And if he isn't, hands on or hands off doesn't matter.
-
I think he is hands off, but if this group doesn’t get their poo together soon, he won’t be which will be worse.

This is the worst defense in the league without question. im also not sure this isn’t the worst offense in the league. this team will be a sub four win team with a new quarterback next year and a coach who will be on the hot seat (which is a disastrous combination that will lead to another five years of failure) we are what Cleveland was to the prior generation. The panthers are now the Browns. -

I'd rather watch Darnold occasionally make a really nice play -
I agree, that was an UGLY underhanded lob pick-6 by Bryce that fortunately got called back. Credit to Hubbard for the broken tackle on the TD, which was nothing more than a simple swing pass from Bryce.
-
Get a new qualified QB.Young isn't him.
-
It's called padding stats against soft zone in late game situations trailing by multiple scores. The D isn't trying to stifle you anymore, they're just trying to avoid giving up big plays.
-
That is a legit concern. I still don't think you can bench him after one game. Everyone is overreacting right now. For the record, I wanted Stroud. I started watching film with him, and was so convinced he was the pick with Reich at the helm that I didn't even evaluate anyone else. I felt like I was going crazy as the draft approached and it seemed like Young could possibly be the pick. He's the guy now, though.

Carolina did the right thing last year moving on from Bryce last season after 2 games. The right move was to then trade him. He never sees the field again. They fugged that up and set this debacle up. to me, Bryce has always been year 3 Rhule. It’s not going to work yet we committed to a known pointless season
-
I mean, I will say, Andy Dalton looked good in week 3 last year in a similar situation which sadly, realistically is and would be when teams would click if they didnt really put the work in preseason. I dont think they need to play 100% of the snaps preseason, but they clearly do not look like team that is mentally or physically prepared for NFL football in week 1. I do put a TON of onus on Bryce, I think if he were the strong leader, hed push Canales to go back out after that pitiful week 2 preseason, but its NOT all on him. XL not getting 2 feet in is an egregious disgusting mistake and it COMES from lack of preparation. Quite honestly, skill wise, it looked like Chuba and Nalo put the time in also looked like the Line aside from Corbett did fine, but Dowdle...looked like eh...and the rest of the skill guys looked very rough. Renfrow ran decent routes I guess. All Im saying is IF you are going to play your starters late in the 4th quarter of a meaningless WEEK 1 of the NFL season blowout, when those SAME STARTERS could get injured and lose time the rest of the season EXACTLY like a preseason game just to get them reps, then it makes not only no, but mind numbing amounts of negative sense to say "we wont play them in the preseason cuzz they could get hurt"

Denial -
Offense is just really hard to come by when the opposing defense knows that you can't stretch the field because your QB is incapable of it. We saw the same thing with Campaign after his shoulder injuries and Cam was nowhere near as overall physically limited as Bryce even with a trashed throwing shoulder.
