LB Jacob Rodriguez Wants to Come to Carolina
Swaggasaurus replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is going to be like Schwesinger last year. Very early 2nd is the floor. If a team ranks him ahead of CJ Allen, he’s a round 1 pick. This is a Butkus award winner that just destroyed the combine in lateral agility drills. -

Freddie in net. Need better blue line and goalie play
-
As far as I know they didn't meet with any first round offensive line players at the combine. They had a meeting with the Duke center but so far that's it.
-
At #19? No. There are no first round center prospects in this draft. There rarely are and we definitely don't need a developmental OG in the 1st who will almost certainly be a backup barring injury for at least a year or two.

Not unexpected: Panthers raise season ticket prices
scratched replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
Everybody wants new and shiny things, but don't want to pay for it... The increase is justifiable, and if you can afford a $500 ticket, you can afford a $525 ticket. -
Not sure about his zone blocking scheme fit, but Slaughter, Lew, Hecht, Logan Jones, and possibly others are good agile zone-scheme fit olinemen that have the potential to start day 1 for us
-
Can’t discount the aspect of players signing with a perennial bottom-dweller franchise for less than their consensus market rate. Anyone can sign a crazy contract to get the dollars, but when a team like the Panthers gets a top tier free agent without getting ass raped, it must mean the player believes in something about the team I assume.
-
I think they are planning for different scenarios that may play out and have researched options in each case. At least that's what it appears to be early in this offseason.
-
Got a few myself, but I have been disappointed plenty of times. I'm wondering how the current coaching is going to pan out this time around. They made me want to throw stuff at my tv.
-
I really cannot say that I have any inside knowledge of who they are targeting. I'm just speculating like everyone else. I will wait until they finish all the official visits before I zero on who our targets might be. As it stands now they have not talked to anyone that will realistically be available at 19.

Who you got? Please elaborate.

BREAKING: Panthers sign QB Kenny Pickett

Honestly I was like "meh whatever" when I saw it, but then I saw the reactions of the weirdos on this site and now wonder if it was a solid move. You have no idea how low IQ the takes are for the users who spend 12 hours a day surveying a Carolina Panthers forum (that should tell you everything). I'm on page 4 and tryout already had two people saying Dan Morgan is getting fired when the rest of the league is looking at him being one of the top GM's in the league. And another guy saying "you arent posting what we are posting so you should stop posting.) Seriously, just ban that guy. He is worthless. These are the same people telling you to stop posting because you said they should stick with Sam Darnold for a couple of years to see what he can do while building up the rest of the team. They are dumb...really really dumb. Especially the guy who said stop posting. I also thought this signing was nothing, but you have no idea just how bad their takes are on here. Its probably going to work out well somehow. So guys, is Dan Morgan gone before the end of the year ? I'll be back in another 3 months to laugh at them again -

$650 million in taxpayer funded stadium renovations and the Tepper's are still raising ticket prices. -
No cap space allowed us to get Phillips and Lloyd as their former teams couldn't afford them. The cap is real and has to be managed or you lose talent. That said both these signings are awesome

imagine the concession demands of a Costco-sponsored stadium It'll be better than the Falcons $5 meal deals (that are actually pretty decent for the price) -
BREAKING: Panthers sign QB Kenny Pickett
mav1234 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Howell had such potential, he would have shown it after that season - but he has failed to. KP and Howell both had their team that drafted them move on from them, so I find that a wash. In opportunities since their first team, KP has looked like a backup, while Howell has failed to move up the depth chart and looked real bad in his only extended experience, so this fixation on Howell by this board is a clear reflection of his university and not his play in the NFL. Howell is not a guy that has potential that could develop into a future NFL QB, at least it doesn't look like it. The reality was we were never going to get a QB that could really push Bryce in any way in FA. Still, I'm hopeful the draft will bring us some potential in the QB room, because given our backup budget, we weren't going to be finding it in FA. -

Merch sales The packers team store is huge, and makes a ton of money. Easily at least 10x the size of the dinky Panthers store at BoA -

I've never had season tickets but always tried to make 1 home game / year. I haven't been since the steelers game in 22, their fans completely took over "The Bank". Not having a winning season and rising costs are a big part of that. -
I've been saying in every free agent thread that y'all worry too much about finances. We've watched teams with "no cap space" sign marquee players for years while we were signing Rozebums. Leave it to the spreadsheet nerds that the team employees, it'll be fine.

BREAKING: Panthers sign QB Kenny Pickett
poorboysrev replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Right...I think they've done really well. No one's going to bat 1000% but they've addressed areas of need and there's no comparison to the overall talent of the team now than when DC and then Morgan got the reigns. This whole season is about seeing how much of a step up can Bryce and this team make. If Bryce can't and last year is as good as it gets for him then at least we have a talented roster for the next guy. I think we're going to be good this season -
BREAKING: Panthers sign QB Kenny Pickett

I said could, not would. I recognize he has potential based on past performance. Compared to what KP has done, Howell has more potential and the physical traits to make noise. KP has small hands and a weak arm. Not something you want in even your backup QB. I've been hammering since last off-season before we re-signed Dalton, improve the room. Other than getting younger, I don't see how anyone can say we legitimately improved the room or even tried. We might as well have signed Josh Rosen. Dalton is still on the roster for now. That's 3 QBs unless we trade or cut him. He's still Bryce's mentor after all. Do you believe we are going to draft someone with potential and give them a legitimate opportunity to develop from the practice squad? Are we going to carry 3 QBs on the active roster? 4 for a developmental rookie? Are we going to potentially cut KP if we draft a rookie and he's outperformed? Doubtful. Cutting Dalton(if we can't trade him) and KP would be 8m in wasted cap space. I chose Howell as an example because he showed promise in his only full season as a starter. You could plug in another name with the physical traits and potential and what i said would still apply. KP showed almost nothing and was benched. I genuinely don't care if it’s rookie pick as long as there is the potential to develop into a future NFL QB. As much as I can't stand him, Bellichek was always developing a number 2 QB even with the GOAT as his starter. The wisdom of that was evident when Cassell came in when Brady was hurt week 1 and went 11-5 and almost made the wildcard, which 11-5 gets you almost any other year. I give credit where it's due though. Cassel and Jimmy G both came into the league as developmental QBs, potential QB1s, and went on to have careers. You never know if you never try. KP feels like a punt in addressing the most important position on the field. Bryce has never played 2 full games of franchise QB level football back to back. If Bryce progresses, are you ready to offer a 280m 5 year extension based off a one hit wonder year? If Bryce regresses and we need a QB in 27, are we going to trade a fortune away again to trade up to 1 to get one? Are you ready to do the past 3 years all over again? To me, it's not about Kenny Pickett. It's about the move itself. It was a feeble attempt to improve the QB room. We better hope Bryce succeeds, because if he doesn't, we literally have no backup plan right now.
