Joe Person: Panthers really like Mason Graham and Jalon Walker

Just go get micah shock the world -
Hard to argue that Tepper is worse than the guy who is literally the GM of the team he owns lol. I'll give him benefit of the doubt for 31 at least.

possible ILB just became available

Worth a kick of the tires. He might be better than the worst LB currently on the roster. -
BREAKING: Panthers update their depth chart (big changes)
AceBoogie replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’ll say this. Nobody has seen Shedeur be anything but a good qb. -
How bad is it when you beat Jerry Jones out of his "worst owner in NFL" status
-
I wouldn't quibble with the #32 ranking as far as how we function together at the present. I'd be less agreeable if it is supposed to be a ranking of what the players will be after some development.
-
But Wallace did get lots of extra snaps since last year's D lined up and refused to stop other teams. Seems like a couple of games our D was on the field for somewhere around 700 snaps . . .

Why would you follow soccer ?? Too much like freeze tag except when the soccer player gets a light tag they fall on the ground, writhe around, commence seizures and wait for the team doc to bring them Kleenex
-
His good performances do get overblown by fans. I’d credit that to our pure desperation of anything from the QB position. When he plays well some will continue to overhype while others will continue to discredit it. I feel like that’s always going to happen in sports. Especially in relation to the QB position.

TDs are TDs they count for the same amount of points however you get them. If it’s open you run it in. Again this whole debate is ranking single game performances by Panthers QBs. Rambling on about all his other shortcomings isn’t relevant unless it just makes you feel better.

BREAKING: Panthers update their depth chart (big changes)
ECHornet replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Similar to the Diontae Johnson situation, we’re better off without the locker room havoc having him would create. Now, I do wish we had found a way to draft Lampkins as IOL depth. -
I mean Rhule got 2.5 seasons and I think we all agreed he needed to go. Reich was not an NFL coach anymore and we absolutely made the right decision moving off of him. I don’t think Tepper wants to move off another HC. I don’t follow soccer

Corey Thornton 4th string CB? I have never heard of the 3rd string guys -

Cam Jackson 4th string?? If that holds true it will make passing over Shedeur (to back up Bryce) look like a mistake -
All I’m saying is claiming it as, as good as any performance in Carolina history….is the continuing trend of taking something good done by Bryce and then taking it too far. for example, Bryce had an incredible turnaround last year that even the most optimistic fan couldn’t see coming. Instead of letting that be something awesome… the well he actually was a top 10 QB stuff gets layered on top. And then I’m a hater for taking issue with the over the top part while agreeing with the basic core. It was a great finish. His best game. And a super efficient game. But it can’t be that, it has to then be as good any anything we have ever seen. Well, it’s not that though.

They still have eyes on the McTavish situation, so that's a possibility. Right now the answer seems to be a lineup featuring Jarvis at 2c.

We did not draft 5 foot 9 and a half Bryce Young to win games with his legs. We drafted him for his arm talent and ability to process on the field both of which were hyped immensely. Full stop. To be clear 3 passing touchdowns is impressive and I've said as much and complimented him on his progress from and this is not hyperbole one of the worst QB's in the league at one point. The issue is it's one game and it has only been replicated one other time. And the other issue is even in games like this where his scoring output goes up his yardage is still low. That paired with the subject of his lack of 300 yard games and otherwise lack of 2 or more TD's games creates a conversation of sustainability and what is a realistic expectation for him as the "norm" going forward. And for right now Bryce Young scoring 2 rushing touchdowns in a single game when he only had 6 total rushing touchdowns in 14 games last year only exacerbates the need for that question to be asked. It is unfortunately very real and certainly something to consider. And just for clarity sake for comparison last year in a losing outing against the Rams Josh Allen threw for 3 touchdowns and rushed for 3 more scores. He accumulated a total of 424 yards. In regulation. Bryce Young's herculean coming out game as some here would describe only accumulated a combined 275 yards while going to overtime. And to be abundantly clear since you are choosing to take potshots at me about Stroud which only serves to aid you in portraying me as a hater. I did not bring him up here. I only responded to a conversation that occurred. As always. As I've said. I want Bryce to be the guy here. I don't want another reset where we have to wait 2 or 3 more seasons to see if a new guy is "him". If and when Bryce strings together multiple elite passing performances this upcoming season to cement himself at least as a top 12 QB then I will give praise where it is due 100%. But that is the bar or at least it should be. We've invested immensely in this offense and in him.

Waldo replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol. How about sitting through a draft process completely underwhelmed. When you see what you expected it's just the long road to being proven correct. -
He said one of the greatest and it was record breaking so an argument can be made for it. That’s all I’m saying. Do I personally think it was top 5? Nah. Top 10? Maybe. If you score 5 TDs and have lower yards you simply ran out of real estate. I don’t see that as a negative. He can’t create more yardage after he scores. it’s also not that massive of a statement. Our top 10 is basically all Cam with a couple Jake sprinkled in there.

The guys at the top is what gets churned over and over again at draft time. They tried to make anyone going in the top of the draft stand out but the depth looked way better after their personal 'buts' were discussed. It was what, 2 guys and then basically guys you would see at the end of the 1st or 2nd in most other drafts? -
if you are wanting to claim the extreme position of greatest QB performance of all time ….while not cracking 200 in regulation? Well, that seems like a fair point to bring up to me…given the massive statement being made.
-
I agree that quality of the opponent hurts this game a good bit. I think some fans also go overexcited to see something from the QB position. My opinion is it was the best QB performance by a Panther since Prime Cam and it’s not particularly close. The bar has been pretty low.
-
Lol you are just taking away TDs to try to make a point about a game performance. This doesn’t sound like reality to me. We are looking at a game where he scored 5 total TDs which tied a record thus some could consider it ONE OF the best offensive performances by a Panther’s qb (it was the best we’ve seen since Prime Cam no doubt). Taking away his rushing TDs because that’s not the norm is completely ludicrous in this debate. Yeah if you nerf down his stats they weren’t record breaking. Look I can call him out when he plays bad, see first two weeks and that Cowboys game keeps getting looked over. He also played very well against Atlanta. You have to let go of this pre draft opinion or wanting him to fail because some Bryce Stans ruffle your feathers. Rambling about PJ Walker and trying to remove TDs in an argument about single game performances is a bad look.
