  1. Past hour
  2. I do wonder what Lemon's ceiling will be. I'm hoping it's not the type of pick we look back on and he's JSN level lol. But I wasn't really itching for a WR this year, I like Coker's trajectory
  3. Lemon was a hard one to think we’d passed on but I’m not opposed to it if there was a better player available. I just question how another o linemen was seen as the most impactful player we could get at 19. I hate to say it but even an elite LT isn’t the missing piece for the offense’s struggles. Bryce limitations shouldn’t limit us from drafting anyone imo, that’s just not acceptable. I’m not mad at the wr room currently, it just requires a lot positive growth from xl, Coker, tmac and horn. we’re in unison about the offense’s ceiling given the signal caller, with that being said and known, maybe invest some high draft capital into the side of the ball that’s been steadily improving with the least amount of investments.
  4. I also saw that he played basketball in HS and his mom is a yoga instructor. I get the athleticism now. Bball players usually translate well to the NFL.
  5. I'm seeing a lot of posts saying he's raw and he needs time however he's the 2nd graded LT by ESPN and the 14th overall prospect. I think he plugs in right away and plays on day 1.
  6. There is A LOT of talent on the board for R2. I know we’re eying Rodriguez and I truly hope we land him. If we don’t though, there are a lot of guys that would start this year and make an impact. McCoy (if we want another CB with major injury red flags) Terrell McDonald Rodriguez Hill Stukes Golday Haulcy Scott Hunter Parker
  7. When you watch his tape, you really have to overlook how raw he is to fall in love with him. I guess they thought that we have a good OLine coach and they're handing him a lump of clay. Crazy athlete, but man his tape isn't the prettiest. Has a lot to learn, technique wise.
  8. I think hes going to do well and it will help Bryce
  9. The safety Dillon or WR Lemon were popular with some people here, I wasn't totally sold on either of those but do want defense so it really depends on if we can either luck out or trade up to get someone that would be a year one impact on defense in round 2. If they double dip on offense tmrw I'll be pissed they didn't take Dillon or J-rod tonight
  10. Mature pick by the front office. The type of long-view pick a team like Ravens and Eagles would make
  11. Really like this picked with great value. Kid has huge upside. I bet we are finally not going to see huddle saying "can he plays LT" in this forum for the next decade.
  12. I'm happy with the pick, with the Ickey injury I think it's great to solidify the line and protect Bryce for sure. Seeing how the rest of the first round played out, who or what position would you have liked to see us pick if not Freeling? After Sadiq was off of the board, I was open to them drafting whoever they felt was best personally lol
  13. This is what winning franchises do. Redshirt him a year and sprinkle him in to get some live action but no need to rush him along. If he comes out of camp and abuses Walker, play him at LT. If Moton (god forbid) goes down….plug him in. Otherwise, no need to rush him along. He will find his footing in 2027. Freeling was tops on their board and I’m venturing a guess that he was ahead of Thieneman on most other teams boards too. You win in the trenches and I like the Lane Johnson comp on him if he hits his ceiling. Now, go out and get Rodriguez or Hill on Friday.
  14. Freeling was my OT1 and this is maybe my favorite pick of the first round so far. https://x.com/nate_tice/status/2047502145725816934?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
  15. Monroe Freeling was my favorite pass protecting LT. Just trying to figure out how this makes sense for the current Panthers https://x.com/csimmsqb/status/2047495668118216899?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
  16. Campbell has a really weird build altogether. Not just the short arms but he's really narrow across the shoulders too. Overall, it just leads to a really short reach and a narrow base. You better have flawless technique and really quick feet to make up for it and he showed neither as a rookie.
  17. Well, for the people who rationalized that building up the WR room would help the next QB if Bryce is gone, I will say the same thing about a LT. Or a RT.
  18. Look, I liked Lemon a ton, but do you really think Bryce Young can lead an offense to the top half of the league with his arm, even if we give him Lemon? I just don’t. Without any running game ten 1st WRs wouldn’t help us much. If either of those tackles misses time we have nothing. No running game, no protection, no production. This is the most practical direction we could have taken. All IMO of course.
  19. One point he made in an interview about his relative low number of starts is who he practiced against everyday at Georgia.
  20. Some Huddlers will stop talking crazy once Freeling gets his legs under him. Prototypical size, length and athleticism with true LT experience. He only allowed five pressures and one sack in 700+ snaps. What more do you want from a college prospect? I say we got a little bit of a steal.
  21. OT is probably the teams biggest need moving forward. Moton on his last legs, gonna be gone soon. Ickey's injury is really nasty and has a very low success rate. Most likely he never returns to form 100%. Walker is just a one year band-aid. In today's NFL you need two good OTs and they have ZERO long term answers. If Bryce flames out, then you're forced to use the 1st next year on a QB (and possibly 2nd rounder to trade up). And then what? You drop your new top pick QB in behind an OLine with zero OTs, two aging guards and whoever ends up playing center? Total disaster. Given that Freeling was considered a top 15 pick by most, easy decision here. Not flashy or exciting but it's the right move.
