Could Morgan be eyeing Trey Hendrickson
PootieNunu replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
This type of thinking is going to have a lot of people with their feelings hurt come next season. I think this season was the high point of the BY/DC Era. Hope they prove me wrong. -
In all honesty, we need to run more RPO. Far and away the best I have seen Bryce look throwing the ball is when we call that RPO slot slant/TE flat. I would love to see what our percentage of snaps with empty backfield was last year. We need to run way less of that formation and at least have teams dedicate some brain cells to figuring out if we will run or pass it with a RB in the backfield. And I can definitely believe we were close to last in motion percentage. I think the only time we ran motion is when we run that Horn jet sweep

Signing Dalton to a 2 year deal after the ghost pepper fueled poo storm that was his performance last season is reminiscent of the stomach rumble premonition that hits 10 minutes after finishing a late night jolt cola and Taco Bell chili cheese burrito fueled cotton mouth/munchies extravaganza.

What about McDermott for head coach?

This is a sad albeit accurate statement about the state of the franchise. -
The impression I get is that Young is better at handling adversity than Stroud. A part of it might just be that Young has gone through so much adversity at the start of his career, and so things don't really rattle him as much anymore. Stroud has a far easier start to his career but it has gotten harder since then. Protection isn’t as good. He lost Dell. He had a concussion this season. But it's still bizarre how he went in full panic mode in the playoffs. It's like his confidence vanished and there was no real trigger on why it did. And this is happening a few years in? Young does need to work on his mechanics but that I feel may be far easier to fix than what may be a mental thing with Stroud.

You can get the Athletic for $2 per month. But it isn’t impressive. It is all columnists mostly, not daily up reporting, not much gets written during the week. Baseball coverage is the same. That’s mostly what I follow. Foot and base ball.

I think that’s where the RPO number is coming from. Panthers can’t run a lot of play action under center from Bryce because it’ll always be a roll out or a quick pass to the flats. Remember his rookie year when it came out he couldn’t pick up the post snap defense after selling a PA, so he’d be looking back over his shoulder the entire time while doing the fake.

I’m not paying for the athletic because none of the panthers writers there are worth supporting. assuming this is on top of his extension and let’s just say they decide to do it after he completed a check down in the preseason, this is like 5 years 60 million, or 12 mil/season What’s even the point of keeping him if that’s all he’s worth? Why commit to five years of this if you value him only slightly more than Russell Wilson? -
Interesting chart on offensive tendencies of all NFL teams

It would be more helpful they differentiated between the play action from the gun and from under center. -

Could Morgan be eyeing Trey Hendrickson

Agree wholeheartedly that a youngster beside Brown would be welcomed with open arms. A’Shawn is a great rotational guy but I want someone with a bit more pass rush juice and younger legs helping Brown out. I feel like we are doing with DB, what we did with Cam. Knowing how dominant they are as a 1-of-1 player, we aren’t supporting them with more talent around them. Putting JAGs like Shy and Ray out there were awful choices. I LOVE what the Rams have with done w/ Fiske-Verse-Young-Turner. Same with SEA - Murphy/Hall (draft) & Williams/Lawerence (trades). I think 2024 was a rough draft but our FO learned from it and had a successful ‘25 draft. I think this crew can find 3-4 starters again and land another late round/UDFA gem like Coker and Fitzgerald, we’re in business. We’re right where we should be (possibly a win or two/division crown early actually), and won’t be complete even with this offseason. I also think with a successful FA/draft, we’re at worst a 10-win team, and favorites to win the NFCS. -
Bryce Young is our Josh Allen, bro. Dan was here for that fiasco.

Until Morgan fixes the QB room or at least attempts to...Beane by a mile.

I wonder how much of the Davis Webb interviews are opportunities to see if he would be interested in leaving Payton to be an actual play caller. If he’s not selected as a HC, I could see him getting paired with Evero, being his OC on a big contract and play calling duties. HOWEVER, you risk losing him to a HC job in a year or two.
-
Yep. I couldn’t bear to read it all. Hunt is praising him. Derrick Brown is praising him. Reich is praising him to a lesser degree. He says not expected to be offered an extension before next season, but it is paving the way preparing the sheep for the news type of piece.
-
Wow. Nothing on Kaelon Black the other RB? I thought he looked great. Maybe a very late round guy or even UDFA.
-
I would say if we did, it would point to Tepper keeping his hands off and letting his people work. Chances of that? Highly doubtful. I would have to assume Morgan is a 4-3 fan.

The 3-4 switch led us to Evero and both of these choices were reportedly David Tepper. I am gonna guess we will not be seeing any 4-3 in the foreseeable future here in Carolina.
